software OS4   software OS4 : UFRaw 0.19 for AmiCygnix released
   posted by CygnusEd on 24-Jun-2013 17:58:07 (2075 reads)
With UFRaw you can edit and convert RAW images. The program is based on Dave Coffin's "DCRaw" version 9.17 and supports various formats.

UFRaw can be used standalone and as a plug-in for the image editor "The Gimp".
The installer script detects an already installed Gimp package and the plug-in can be installed automatically.

UFRAw can read Exif data, supports color management using "Little CMS" (lcms)
and supports now "Lensfun" for rectifying and simulating photographic lens
distortions.

    I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    @samo79

    The dcraw code must be adapted for UFRaw. I think I will wait for an update of the UFRaw that will include dcraw 9.19. I'm too lazy to do it by myself

    I wonder if this means, if you have a 16 Megapixel plus image you can apply up to 4000 magnification before fuzziness sets in? Or is there a simple calculation that can be used.?

    If any lense can be used, can Meta lenses be coded, like 5000mm?

    I guess your comment is related to Lensfun. I'm not an expert for this library, but as far as I know, this library can only make corrections of geometry or other failures (or simulate them).

    Here is the homepage of this project:
