software Classic   software Classic : AmiKit updated. Happy Easter!
   posted by AmiKit on 5-Apr-2015 21:11:06 (3055 reads)
AmiKit is a free project, powered by enthusiasm, that turns your computer, tablet or phone into legendary Amiga. It includes more than 350 of the finest apps.

We've updated several components in this 8.4 release.

MUI4 got new pointers - hover your mouse over a link or column separator to see what we are talking about. A number of custom classes have been updated to the latest versions too.

WHDLoad, the ultimate game loader, is now able to update itself! From now on, your old games will always get a fresh support :)

System libraries like OpenURL, CodeSet and IconLib have been updated too.

And last, but not least, we've improved Polish and Russian language support in AmiKit. There are more catalogs and better fonts now. Enjoy!

Greetings and thanks to Mikhail Malyshev, Bernd Roesch and Artur Jarosik.

@newlight

If you haven't customized your AmiKit, simply reinstall. For technical support please refer to AmiKit Support forum.

Nice idea.

Slight problem.

Im afraid that using the default by necessity of Full Script Block, or access using a browser that doesnt know what scripting is, which is even more secure, the amikit site is totally broke?

I really wish there were basic templates, such as, If Noscript, call indexhtml1.htm or some such. I really wish Id done more work on my web page 15 years ago, have a point and click adventure in the background as an easter egg.

Sorry.

Hello,

Having just installed AmiKit on my Asus Transformer tablet this week - as great as it is to see AmigaOS 3.9 up and running - it is dreadfully slow - I realise the Asus is not the fastest tablet in the world, but what are the best settings possible for absolute maximum speed?

I don't care for games, I just need it run to applications within Workbench for development purposes.

At present I have my new application Evolve opening correctly on start-up in AmigaOS 3.9, just need to do some further probing to make it works in all areas. The problem is takes forever to open!

myevolve.wordpress.com

Quick Question 1: On 4.1, the Rexx port for workbench is simply 'WORKBENCH', is it something else for previous versions?

Quick Question 2: How do I simulate a R-Amiga key press?

Quick Question 3: What is the highest version of the ixemul library that is available for AmigaOS 3.9? My application complains it needs at least v63. This error appears as a result of OpenURL.

Quick Question 4: I need to install Hollywood on this thing - hope it works?!

@djrikki

I recommend Windows, Mac or Linux port for much better performance - especially for development purpose.

1) I guess so
2) This is not supported by Android version yet.
3) AmiKit contains ixemul lubrary 63.1
4) Yes: https://youtu.be/tgMhmEUMWOM
