Events   Events : Bay Area Maker Faire 2019 - May 17-19
   posted by RobertB on 5-May-2019 6:10:29 (1364 reads)
Join us at the Vintage Computer Festivalers tables at the Bay Area Maker Faire 2019 on May 17-19. https://makerfaire.com/bay-area/ Bay Area Maker Faire is at the San Mateo County Event Center (fairgrounds), 1346 Saratoga Dr, San Mateo, California, USA. We'll be in the Expo Hall.

We'll have Classic Computers for the hands-on exhibit. Personally, I will be bringing an Ultimate 64, Amiga 600, and as a back-up, an Amiga CD32. Others will be bringing in systems ranging from Apples to Ataris.

Over a hundred thousand attendees at the event,
Robert Bernardo

@RoberB

How many people are expected to attend this event? Also, how many of them might be Amiga users?

How many people are expected to attend this event? Also, how many of them might be Amiga users? I'm always looking for an excuse to visit California.

:)

Out of the hundred thousand Bay Area Maker Faire attendees, hundreds come throuhg our classic computers' exhibit. As for them being Commodore/Amiga users, I've never made a count, but many say that they used to have a Commodore or Amiga or still have a Commodore or Amiga stored away. I always tell them to get back into it! :)

This year we barely were able to get into Maker Faire, though we had the first application in. Seems that the powers-in-charge wanted new stuff that had never been seen before! Well, the Ultimate 64 is new, and the Amiga 600 has an AmigaKit Chip RAM expander plus RTC clock. My back-up CD32 has never been to Maker Faire, and that would surprise people. If I had an Amiga NG machine, I could have brought that in...
