| Excellent.
Made the transition from Vapourware to hardware nicely.

| Very nice.
I'd like one in a small box so I can plug it into my TV.
Is that an S-Video slot on the back?
And yes, it looks like a 144pin SDRAM memory module. |

This is the one I want! Nice and small, put it into one of the little cases that you can buy, viola, Amiga. Heck may even see if I could mutilate an A1200 case to put one in _________________

| Anyone else noticed, no floppy connector and it has decent IDE connectors with the surround so you can't put the cable in the wrong way round.
Also I wonder if it is possible to get a PCI riser card so that you can put more then one PCI card in at right angles to the board? _________________

| Technically it's still vapourware, as this is a pre-production prototype.
But it looks good. Nice, compact design. There are things you can do with a card like that Mini-itx.com |

The pictures a bit low-res, but it looks like there are 2 USB plugs (and hopefully a Eithernet plug too), in that silver block beside the sound connectors. You could definately plug a ZIP or floppy into that.
I like they've put a Radeon on the motherboard, it least it will have some good basic graphics hardware (I doubt it is a top-of-the-line chip), and I'm sure demo-coders might like the idea of coding to the metal.
All in all, I've been waiting for an A1200-style Amiga for a while- this is the best shot at that yet.

| This is the best news in ages.
If the radeon chip isn´t from the stone age, and the price is "right". This is what I (we?) have been waithing for.
Eyetech! Hard facts! Now!

| I sit here reading my copy of TAM (very nice magazine btw), and I'm reading the specs which where announced as final by Allan in his article. I read that it has a card bus slot, now looking on the mobo I don't see one. Or is it supposed to be on one of the connectors? |

I've seen Mini-ITX boards where the cardbus connector is on the bottom of the board. Maybe that's the case here. |

| There will be a card bus interface or a CF adapter for the IDE system.
I imagine that this is 100% vital for embedded systems that are the main market for the A1-lite.
Imagine AOS4 booting up from CF, hmm, nice,
Laptop memory - ugh, expensive. _________________ Happiness is mandatory. MindSpace: MindMaps and UML diagrams for OS4

Maybe they haven't decided where to put it yet. It's an unfinished prototype after all. |
