software Classic   software Classic : Bootable AmiKit USB - Plug N'Play Edition + New SuperCombo
posted by AmiKit on 4-Oct-2024 22:49:07 (847 reads)

Dear Amiga Enthusiasts,

For over 20 years, I've been dedicated to bringing the magic of the Amiga to life through AmiKit. It all started on Windows, where AmiKit made it possible to experience the high-end potential of AmigaOS. Over time, I expanded it to Mac, Linux, and many more.

But there was one dream I hadn’t pursued—until now. I never imagined creating an edition that lets you boot "directly" into an Amiga desktop on your PC. Today’s technology has made that dream a reality. With the speed of USB3.0, advanced Linux and the power of Amiberry emulator (based on WinUAE), the experience is seamless and stunning.

Check the VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

In just seconds, you can transform your PC into a fully-fledged Amiga desktop —packed with all the features and charm of the AmiKit you love. Simply plug in, boot up, and dive into the modern retro world, anywhere you are! The bootable USB is like reliving the joy of bringing a floppy to a friend’s house for a gaming session, but with the power of today’s tech.

On top of that, the bootable USB also includes the new AmiKit 12 SuperCombo package, allowing you to install AmiKit on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Plus, on the latter two, you can even choose between WinUAE or Amiberry for your setup. And for those who want to explore OS4 emulation, FlowerPot for all 3 platforms is included as well.

This package includes a lifetime license and two years of free updates. Even after that, AmiKit will work fully without any limitations—you can simply renew if you want to keep getting updates.
Note that for AmiKit to work you need your own AmigaOS & Kickstart files, ideally Amiga Forever package (from which AmiKit extracts everything it needs automatically).

For more information please visit AmiKit website

Cheers,
Ján, author

PS: There's also a free (and fully functional) version of slightly older AmiKit X for Windows, Mac and Linux. You can get it from this page, just enter zero on the checkout screen.

I don't see anything about it on the website. Are they still available for pre-order?

Hi, sorry about that. There was a problem with supplier and I had to change the design of the USB flash stick completely. It's back online.
