software MorphOS   software MorphOS : Wayfarer adds JavaScript speculative JIT and WebAssembly support
posted by jacadcaps on 7-Aug-2026 18:50:18 (52 reads)
Wayfarer 11.6 with DFG JIT and WebAssembly with BBQ JIT is now available for MorphOS 3.20.

This is the first time an Amiga-compatible 32-bit big-endian system has had a browser with a speculative JIT. This tier offers a typical speed improvement of 6x on most websites and up to 11x in Kraken benchmarks. Also enabled is the YARR regular expression JIT, which significantly improves load times on websites that rely heavily on regex.

Multiple compatibility fixes also make sites like web.whatsapp.com and web.telegram.org usable in Wayfarer.
