Luis Perira advertised an Apolo 040 card on your site. I sent
him 70 euros in June for the card. He said when he went to ship
it the crystal broke and he had to get it fixed. It was in the shop.
It would be ready August 10th. He was on vacation. The shop keeper
was on vacation and on on . He kept promising he would send it, but
it never came. Now he doesn't answer my messages. If you see
him advertising anything on this site. Please report my to the site
manager. He is a thief.

@Punkyclown

Seems like a portuguese name... Is it?Lisbon perhaps?

Do you remember where was it supposed to be being repaired?

Hmm, this sounds familiar. There was a post on amibench a few months ago for a blizz 060. (I think his name was Luis and was from Portugal).

Well, it did sound fishy cause he only wanted 100 euros for it, and he denied sending any pics of the card, so I didnt buy it. I saw a post later on on ann.lu with someone saying he was cheated from him.

Hi. I can confirm it's a portuguese name. I seem to remember that Amibench add I think I even tried to get the card but he replied it was already sold (might not remember well it was a few months ago).
Anyway, I can't help much cause I'm in the Algarve province, around 300Km from Lisbon.

@Jose

Great to know there are more portuguese people still using the Amiga.
Despite my english nickname, I'm portuguese.

It's a shame that we are talking about an alleged scam perpetrated by one of our own... :(

Oh dear!. They never stop, do they? Never buy an item if you can't get at least a picture of it. I sold 2 A3000s recently and have always sent a few pictures of them to the potential buyers. Needless to say, if you can't provide a picture, it means you don't have the item you want to sell!

Regards.

@Punkyclown

Hey guys! Wow! I though that it is only my problem, but Not!

I also wrote to that guy and he told me, that he will ship to me (to Moscow) that b1260. I paid to him 110 usd via Western Union and he promised to me to send the turbo-card. It was at 21 july. After this he didn't responding for 2.5 months.

With help of two guys from Portugal i founded his second e-mail address, and that guy replied me one time. He asked me, how I found his second e-mail and promised to send money back to me, because he sent package to "wrong" address.

It was at 11 october, and after this he didn't replied anymore.

Interesting fact: his name is Luis, he signed as Pedro, and I sent money to Henrique Antonio Barradas Pereira.

I have 2 his e-mail addresses - luis5150@spymac.com and second I will post tomorrow (when I will find it at my another computer). Also I have his bank account.

Sorry for my bad English, but I hope that all understand what I mean.

Is it possible to return my money?

@Punkyclown

I was swindled too a couple of years back by someone called Luis from Portugal. I can't remember his surname, so it may not be the same guy.

I never did get the money that he owed me.

Kind regards,

Francis.

@ all

I think you all need to take a holiday to Sunny Portugal at the same time and just pay him a visit

It's sad, but there seems to be a few dishonest guys around, even in our tiny market.

My sellings/buyings have gone really well because most of the Amiga guys/galls
know that we are what we are... (Respective)

Never buy anything without postal order and with some more expensive ones, You can check the goods before giving the money. At least here.

Sorry for Your losses, My dudes live in Spain so there would be no problem to visit and kick some Portuguese ass for You!!!

A few tears ago? Surely it wasn't that bad!

I did sell a BlizzardPPC board (240MHz with 68040 @ 25MHz) a few years back through Amibench, so it's possible.

Kind regards,

Francis.

@Punkyclown

It's sad to see this kind of begaviour hapening in our small community.
This Luis is not the first, and unfortunatly won't be the last...

BTW, soon (hopefully in the next week or two) I will be sorting out my A1200D/A1200T and sell some system(s) or parts (Here/Amibench/Ebay)... Don't know yet which one to choose as I need sorting my stuff out first... In the lot there is an Apollo Card (bought from Analogic )... It didn't seem to work when I tried it (Black Screen) but I reckon it was due to a faulty RAM or not enough power as I tried it only in an A1200D before getting my first A1200T...

Crystal broke - waiting for the Amiga shop to fix it! Yes, this happened to me too with this ******** ( too rude to print!) Then when I asked what was happening, he said the resistors needed replacing too!!

Sounds like we were all conned - Pity there is no Trading Standards in Portugal (But the Mafia are not far away!)
