A os4 native version of the Midi sequencer called "horny" has been released:

http://www.inutilis.de/horny/index.html

Can some kind germans offer their help on translating the program?

@Restore2003

I think this sequencer is great! Typical that I sold my outboard equipment isn't it

I would like to see audio support in the future... One day... Maybe. Still, looks like a great piece of software.

Great to see an OS4 native version. It still has a problem displaying the buttons like play and stop at the bottom though. Anyway, anybody know of an AmigaOS application that can notate MIDI files?

Yes Horny looks very good, and is already quite advanced for a "version 1.x" program. It cannot match BnP or HD-Rec yet as far as features are concerned but I am sure it will grow into something big! Just support the author and register, or give feedback at least. I've just contributed some instrument definitions so that the list of supported MIDI gear may grow.

Opps! Not seeing the buttons was my fault. I had made a directory called Horny and put the .exe files and the InutilisHorny dir in that when I should have just put the .exe files in the InutilisHorny dir. After moving the .exe files to the correct location Horny worked just fine. In fact a small 'splash' window came up which didn't before. I'll definitely be registering this as soon as I can. About the notation editor, I finally looked at the docs and noticed a piano editor, but are there any apps that can create sheet music notation? TIA,

Just the old DMCS. And wait, MusicX had a notator too as far as I can remember. Both are pretty ancient pieces of software now...

I personally wish Horny came with a Cubase-style drum editor soon. Programming drums with the Piano Roll is silly and inefficient.

@Trixie

Has anyone managed to input notes by hand? I can edit notes I have recorded, but cannot add new notes using the mouse.

@Trixie

Okay one more question - I can add tracks, but when I do so the track is empty - how do I add 'recording space' to a track so that I can add notes by hand?

@Rassilon

What do you mean by "recording space" - a new sequence (for notes to be edited via the Piano Editor)? Again, press ALT and click your mouse inside the particular track. That will create a new sequence for you. Now you can click on it (no ALT) and resize the sequence to any length by dragging the mouse.

@all:

Can someone make a review article about it? This will be something
for the next issue of Total Amiga

@Restore2003

I might have a go at a review - it is something I am interested in. Its just a case of finding the time!

I could possibly write a review for TA, too.
