@TrevorDick

I voted for option 2, reasoning that if I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is, then my shout ought to be heard more than someone who hasn't donated.

However, after reading some of the above reasoned comments, I would combine points 1 and 3 and go for something on those lines.

AROS gives bounties for parts of a project completed. If there are any collaborative projects on the go (eg Open Office) perhaps that model could also be looked at.

I know we are concerned with OS4 here, but I also think that some thought be put into providing some unified means of making software runnable under OS4 or MorphOS from the same installer, thereby increasing the likely user (customer) base of any new software. So saying, perhaps we should also ask on Morphzone, too.
If that were a joint project, then some of the stuff that gets written solely for MOS could be pointed this way, too.

Thanks for your tactful reply and you were requesting input.

I don’t think I’m being naive about having the “big 3” involved ( Although I am a bit
concerned about Eyetech’s silence). But they would only be “involved” in making a small
list of software they think is needed to further the cause. Hyperion (the Freidens, as you
pointed out) have already mentioned a title or two.

They (the “big 3”) clearly have invested more time and money in attempting to make
“Amiga work” again then anyone else and their collective “weight” on a couple of
software titles could make our choice a bit easier. They may also know more about who
is doing what on the software front and this could be a way of helping to get (more)
support for those efforts. This is all speculation on my part of course.

I also suggested a user (read community) list should be included as well.

It all sounds like a lot of work..... but worth a try.

The feedback is certainly appreciated.

I agree about the 'big 3' trying to make the 'Amiga work,' I just think it's pretty much down to Hyperion at the moment, especially in light of AIncs IRC comments, and EyeTechs seeming non-existence.

Maybe that will change over time?

Ok, so I guess all votes and comments are in that are going to be at this point?

I'll leave it to the weekend and summarize in a new (single) thread.
