| Here is a beta release of the Synergy Client I have been working on the past week. Be sure to read the ReadMe file to know what problems you could encounter.
Amiga OS4 Synergy Client v1.0
Let me know how it goes.

I tried it now... Mouse movements works great.. But the keyboard seems to be translaed wrong -- not one single key does the right thing *lol* I'm running the server on an X86 computer with Fedora Core 4 (Linux). _________________ I have an Micro AmigaOne MIST, Turbo Chameleon 64 and 1541 Ultimate II |

Ok, so what happens when you press a b c d e f g? What letters appear? It shouldn't depend on what keymap you are using because I emulate the physical keys on the keyboard, the system takes care of interpreting what should actually appear.
Do the qualifier keys still work, like shift, control , Amiga?

Here are some of the keys and what they produce:
a=l b=(no output) c=(no output) d=ä e=å f=§ g= h=' i=s J=z k=x l=c m=(no output) n=(space) o=D p=F q=O r=(no output) s=Ö t=(linebreak) u=A v=* x=- y=(no output) z=. LAmiga (LWin)=(no output) RAmiga (RWin)=(no output) LShift=m RShift=(no output) LAlt=(no output) RAlt=(no output) LCtrl=k RCtrl=(no output) Tab=i Enter=j Space=(no output) Backspace=u
edit: I just rebooted both Linux and AmigaOS4 and tried again, no luck... Last edited by Maria on 24-Aug-2005 at 02:53 PM.

I just checked my website (from work) and it is working fine right now.
I will put it on OS4Depot when I have it finished (minus clipboard support). Maybe next weekend.

Ok, well, what strange results you have there, I'll inquire as to what the problem could be.
Is there anyone using the program with a non-US keymap? What are your results when typing?

Oh, sorry, you're right - seems to be provider-related, using a proxy it works. _________________ amiga-news.de |

To be technical, this is not a port. Not one line of source code from Synergy is used in my client.

If you don't want to make a 68k version yourself, do you think there's any chance you might provide the source and let someone else have a go at it? Sorry for nagging but I really want a 68k version :) _________________ Amiga 4000D - Apollo 4040 / 40MHz 2MB Chip RAM - 128MB Fast RAM 18GB IDE Harddrive - 52x IDE CD-ROM Cybervision 64 4MB - Cybervision 64/3D Scandoubler Ariadne II Ethernet

I have found out what the problem is. It seems it depends on what OS is running the server as to what the keyboard layout should be. Very annoying. So, I have my client set to use Windows as a server. Using Linux, and probably OSX will make the keyboard do weird things. _________________ AmigaOne XE 800Mhz/1024MB Radeon 9200 128MB 160GB HD/2x 4GB HD SII0680 PATA133 Audigy 2 3Com 100Mb PCI Card |
