It's not about bringing more power to the Amigans.
Why ? I see it as bringing new ideas to Amigans, and I don't see anything wrong with that.

The problem is that Amigans don't want new ideas. That is the realization I have made after a long decade of support. The fact that a new API, with memory protection and SMP, has yet to appear tells us a lot of the traditional Amigan mind-set. It is not for lack of skills. It's for lack of interest. When more power involves change, they reject it. Knowing this, I don't even feel attached anymore to this community, it's an impossibility to convince these people that If they want to advance, they have to start thinking differently, I have given up.

But if Mahomed wont come to the moutain, the mountain will come to Mahomed.

Anubis is the first project ever, coming from this community, that strives for an API change. If Amigans reject it, it does not matter. Anubis has the chance to appeal to an entire world, outside this microcosmos. If Anubis is what their authors claim, it's gonna be the most Amiga-like thing ever to have a chance of success.

Amigans are so sticking to the past and the current situation... Anything forward/different seems to be... "bad". I don't see why.

And this isn't particularly new.

Mac users appreciated the "Think Different" mantra meant that options are empowering. Change was viewed as a necessary part of evolution -- spirit transcended technology.

The Amiga culture has always been based more on what it wasn't. That meant avoiding being like anything else even if it sacrificed progress.
