| Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if AOS4 will be out this year? I ask as it's september now, and if it takes a month or so to press the CD's, manuals etc ....... that's cutting it very fine for a December release.

Sorry, couldn't resist....
But December would be fine for the final version, and I hope the update will be ready before the end of September. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

| Hi Oxygenet,
????
I thought you gave up on AmigaOne when you saw the price of the micro (which I agree with you, it's too high, but nothing can be done about it, can it?).
Even though it is expensive, I want a working computer, so I bought an AmigaOne G4 XE.
Release of AOS4.0? I hope it's soon, BUT it has to be complete, "egg on face" will sink us!!
AmigaOne! Pre-AOS4.0! Waiting, waiting for the ONLY OS that's worth talking about! |

As of yesterday night the update has gone into beta-testing.
Thanks to the hard work of Richard Drummond ("EvilRich") and others.

Hi Ben, Thats great news..
Any chance of this happening ..... (Copy & paste from another thread)
Probably the wrong place to ask this....
But..
Would it be beyond the realms of possibility to have a (Singular) hard copy (CD) of the UPDATE (not Os4 itelf) made available at BB2 so showgoers can leave with a copied update disk ? (bring your own blank !!)
Paul
Instigator... BB2 !!

In principle OS 4 updates are only available to registered OS 4 users. The update is only about 30 MB's in size. If this turns out to be a hurdle for some, we will address this. _________________

| @Hyperionmp 30 megs is not bad at all, it will still be a bit of squeeze with everybody trying to get it at once, but this is good news. _________________ Greg Schofield, Perth Australia |

| Hi Hyperionmp,
/troll mode on
30 Megs? 30 Megs?? This is an outrage!!! windross xp service pack 2 is 272,391 K!!!!!! It must be WAY, WAY better! Yeah, no doubt about it. I'll buy 2 copies!
Have'nt you guys been doing anything over there??? Playing Quake all day, or what?
/troll mode off!!!
That's AMAZING!!!!!
We'll kick bottom, real soon now!
Hehehehe!
AmigaOne! Pre0.2-AOS4.0! Put the rest to shame!
(My 5 megabit connection'll have no probs!) (Also, keep in mind, our PPC code is bigger than their's.) (Just love how small AOS is staying.) |

Sounds good.
Will there be any more public updates after this one or are we now on the home straight to get the final copy out?
Apologies if this has been answered already somewhere else and I've missed it. _________________ Sam |

Good to know we'll have the update soon. But as for the final release date, I believe I heard an official release date of Wednesday, the twenty-third of WHEN IT'S DONE!!!
