Thank you very much for the update! I'll look forward to the fotos and anything else coming from the meeting. I was, of course, curious as to the topics that might have been discussed at the meeting, the general mood from the participants, etc.

| Here are some of the official photos:

Please note that the page is personal and not very fast. There might be some others coming out later (I took some pictures at the dinnertable later in the evening).
And I did count the number of participants larger than the anounced. The reason might be that the official was counted from the people present at the official meeting (pictures 7717-7719) or from the signatures in the diary. My number is only 2 persons higher though.
As this was the unions official meeting, and we did not have anything new to show, there were not that many people there. We hope more will come next summer. We are currently negotiating about the place where to keep the larger open Saku-meeting in Finland. As we are hoping to get some foreigners to visit there as well, please tell us (and the other people responsible of the planning) if you have some preferences about the finnish towns or places where you might be interested visiting (santa claus land is too far north for such a meeting, and there are no proper places for the planned shows, unless we rent those from the finnish army...)

There was a nice, relaxed atmosphere during the whole meeting. The memorable moments came from the nice demos and WormsDC multi-team battles - all displayed on a big screen using a LCD video projector. The tour on university's clean room facilities was a very nice (and very interesting) addition to the programme.
Amiga wise, nothing really new was on display, but people got a chance to try out the latest public incarnations of OS4 and MorphOS as well as play games on classic Amigas and go through some of the latest Amiga mags on display.
Afterwards there was the traditional dinner in local restaurant, with good food and company . Overall, a great way to spend an afternoon and an evening _________________ "Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." (Groucho Marx) |
