Preconstruction Activities Begin at Proposed Amiga Center Site Beginning on May 24, DeWitt Construction will begin testing structural piles to confirm the necessary depth needed to support the foundation of the Amiga Center at Kent. We expect that DeWitt Construction will begin moving heavy equipment to the site Monday, May 21. This may include construction cranes, forklifts, bobcats, container boxes, concrete pumps and welding equipment. Test pile installation will begin on Thursday, May 24 and is expected to be completed by early June. There will be noise associated with the pre-construction work but all activities will conform to the city's noise regulations. In addition, we have worked with the contractor to limit the hours of construction. Construction cannot begin before 8:00 a.m. and should be finished by 4:30 p.m. on most days. All construction activities will take place Monday through Friday, with no weekend work permitted.
