So sad to see employees of direct competitors resort to such tactics. I guess Wired does not even know that they are dealing with quotes relating to an employee of a competing company and not just some random reader.

Especially extraordinary considering all the delays MorphOS has gone through over the years and not to forget half a dozen announced Thendic products which never materialized. And of course AmigaOne boards aren't Mai reference boards, those reference boards are extremely expensive.

They should have added a link to Amiga Inc though. IMO people would have liked to see what AmigaOS4 looks like.

I was wondering who Nate Downs was. Now I know.

Well, I would expect this from Nathaniel Downes. Slamming Amiga publicly while pretending to be a regular user (sometimes switching to the "concerned user" role) is what he gets paid for, after all. No surprises here.

But someone should probably tell Wired who he is.

I for one, do not find it amusing. Yes there have been delays, but we are not talking about the kind of delay which is the result of incompetance, lazyness or plain bulls*it driven tactics, we're talking about the kind of delays which are the fault not of AmigaInc or Hyperion, but that of lack of funding. We're lucky somebody's here to bring OS4 at all, and since nobody has paid anything out for it yet, I dont think anyone is in a position to complain about it.

Now that OS4 is on the verge of release, what we really need to be doing is positively promoting it. If Downix was a REAL Amiga user he'd be able to see that, but obviously he is not. I for one am glad though, the Amiga community needs misinformed idiots like him, like I need an ashtray on a motorcycle.

Trolls will be baited by both negative and positive coverages or news developments. The only difference is that they will now probably comment in support of Nate's statements.

Normally the best approach would be (Taken from our website policy):

Troll: Trolls show no respect for other people's opinions and deliberately crafts messages to provoke others with the intention of wasting their time and energy or just to cause anger and confrontations. There is no point in arguing with them; their minds are made up. Ignore them, and report the posts immediately to an Amigaworld Team Member.

Such trolling on a mainstream news source like Wired is of course nearly impossible to ignore for an Amiga community website and IMO shouldn't be.

We all know secrets. You guys probably know all the " behind the scenes" goings on of Amiga Inc and the reasons for all their strange behavior.

To pin this article solely on Nate Downes is lame.. you seriously think Wired would publish on the list of 10 the comments of only one person?

And guess what.. you MikeB are going to tell them, and set Wired staff straight, right?

So where are all the people complaining about the delays of MorphOS? How come no one submitted vaporware for Pegasos or MorphOS products?

Perhaps OS4 was a more anticipated product than MorphOS, so would easily make it to the list.

Those thendic products were merely reference designs.

Its the SAME exact design, but with a higher quantity production run, leading to a slightly lower price.

Hello to you all.

I have been watching you for some time...

No... Not like that.

Anyway, thought this would be worth registering for so I could offer my $0.02 -

Firstly, this is a petty thing (and not unexpected, IME) for someone like Nate to be doing, but it might backfire. When OS4 arrives, we could contact the Wired guys and say "look, here it is". Perhaps they will give us some free publicity of the good kind. Ex Amiga users are everywhere, and most have pretty fond memories of it. They'd certainly follow through if most of the other items came out, who knows ?
