That's sad, don't know if Sarkozy can understand a little thanks to it, but Berlusconi surely can't understand anythings ...

Any machine to talk directly with the devil ?

Me2

Finally I will be able to understand what my dog is barking at the strangers passing by outside our garden. If my dog is saying something inappropriate I better have a serious talk with her

Best aprils fool so far!

@A1200

Actually the company is not called Google anymore, now it's called Topeka according to the U.S. Goog, err Topeka website.

The sad thing is, this is not really a joke from Google.

Now, thousands of volunteers are running around and collect animals audio data for free for Google, and already annotating them with the animal species.

Of course the translation is a hoacks, but Google gets alot of data for animal classification.

@Wanderer

As long as people only gather sounds rather than body parts, the animals should be okay :)

And we don't really need a computer-based dog to human translator, our brain can already do that:

Woof! = Hey!
Woarf, woarf! = come here!
Waorf, waorf! = go away!
Grrr = Grrr
Yeep, yeep! = Don't kick me I'm not a rat, I just look like one!
Kai kai kai = Aww aww aww
Ayiiiii = Ouch, watch were you're stepping you big retarded ape!
Sniff sniff sniff = It stinks in here

The goldfish is a bit easier to understand since he can't talk, all he can do do is stare at you which basically means "let me go" (in a depressingly sad voice)

actually you are wrong on "Waorf, waorf", it is only used by some dogs in greece which are direct descendant of an egyptian pack who lived at court og Ramses III.

The modern expression is "waroof roof" which can be repeated 2-3 times and then followed by a "Baroof ruff?. The etymology of "ruff" is actually arguable and subject of hot debate. As I see you are interested in such linguistics. We could meet at the scumm bar to discuss this further.

Arf-arf, arf-farf ruuf? wuff wuff aruff Marley. Aaooouuu!!

I'd stick to Amiga April Fool's pranks:

This one is the best for me:

It took me a while to realize what happened!
