The Northbirdge only support PCi-X and AGP 8x. See above regarding PCI-Express

Because he's going to base the design on an existing board which doesn't have PCI-Express, maybe?

I think most people are slipping out in some lala-land when things aren't like in the real world... You know, economics of scale, designing gigahertz electronics from the ground up, etc.

This weeks pet peeve:
Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.
