| We need to find out what custom computer case for Amy the community might prefer!
With this in mind tell us which you would prefer to buy. Each of the cases would be reworked with the look/ feel from the New face 4 amy contest winner.
1) Red Mac Mini look alike

2) All in one keyboard case system.

thanks for the help! Last edited by Troika on 19-May-2006 at 05:13 PM. Last edited by Troika on 19-May-2006 at 05:13 AM.

I like the all-in-one case. It has that - you know, nostalgic 1984 C64 look about it

I am happy with anything as long as it resembles something like the designs found here:

I could "rework" that no problem...
I just need a pen and a piece of paper.
Anyway there are other solutions available.

Nr.2 will make you much more vulnerable to RSI (or CANS as it's called nowadays). Please don't use this design. _________________ Audio Evolution http://www.audio-evolution.com |

I voted for the all-in-one form factor, but if the mini-mac box wins, please make it a more subdued shade of red. That looks like a schoolkid's lunch box, or some weird sort of fire hydrant. I don't like it when the case is louder than the case fans!

Ever considered that the PCB-layout for of such an all-in-one case might need to be completely different from Flex-ATX?

And what would you do with 2 PCI slots in such a case anyway?
How much more waffle are you going to post? _________________ This signature is in the middle of a much needed facelift! |

I voted for "Standard Tower Case"... But I'd like a mac mini style option too...
Possibly something in between those two would be good, like those small "shuttle" computers :)
How about just selling the mobo and cpu without any case as an option too... more customisable then ;)
But hey... I'd like all of those options except the desktop one.. lol
The all in one keyboard is a good one too.... agh! too much choice! _________________ Back to action! |

| I don't get why loads of people keep looking backwards and want an all in one case. It takes up too much room on a desk and you cant use a KVM on it. If you want a classic looking Amiga, go buy a classic Amiga.

Two PCI-slots in a keyboard-case system? Rrrrrright.
And Amy'08 is about a G6-laptop with 6 PCI-Express slots, RAID harddrive and 3 Blueray-drives? _________________ This signature is in the middle of a much needed facelift! |

| I think that the best choice would be a board + ...
a sac with logo-stickers and a soft- or game-bundle.

| Voted for the all in one option, but in reality I would prefer the lowest cost option.

| I voted for the Mini design because:
Its smaller, doesn't crowd the desk top and might go farther in sales, cheaper in price, and easier to find add-on hardware already produced. Also could be a route into the embedded use market.
All in one keyboard design is dated, and I will keep my A1200 ready for the ACK, if and when it appears. Crowds the desktop to much. So NO . . .
Unless the desktop that is described is basically a shuttle style unit for portability, then NO. . .
Tower, if its a small stylish mini-tower then maybe, but a Medium to Large - NO way . . .
Now, one of those Walker designs might be nice.
Also, just a mobo would be cool . . with stickers, software etc. bundled? _________________ Avatar babe - Monica Bellucci. |

I voted for the red tissue box. All it needs is some white checks and if you could find a nice keyboard and mouse and rebrand those to go with it. I think the all in one is a good idea also, though I'm not sure about that particular one. Any idea what's going on with the amiga fantasy case. It is much more fitting for the Amiga image.
Some of the designs made by the daddy are also excellent. I was having a look on the internet the other day and there seem to be quite a lot of companies around that only need a C.A.D. model to build this sort of thing. I'm not sure about the unit cost for this though.
I'm glad that you see the importance of building a recognisable brand and hope you get something out there soon. |
