That's not a super bad price. I mean compared to most other 'netbooks' out there this is below the 2x as expensive mark. So compared to something like SAM motherboard (or A1 back in the day) vs most other motherboards out there SAM is well above the 2x as expensive mark.
Questions one might have is quality of the product, support, etc.

A: Very good, and improving It's a Freescale CPU inside after all. SSD is the best options for such as system and RAM and other parts are all industry standard and proven to work for mass production.
Q: Quote: A: Good 1) Initially it will be backed with a solid replacement guarantee, via the eBay & PayPal dispute resolution centers ONLY! Term of this guarantee will be limited buy supply and demand. 2) Software is mainly OpenSource - so self supporting forums exist. 3) I will provide forum support and or answers to questions when appropriate.
*NOTE: I reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of sale, on a ad hoc basis. Mainly to meet long term viability goals.

And not a single word from Hyperion that they will | - Correct! 1) The AIM will be to create a user base of LimeBook owners, withing the Amiga User base. Reason: Much like when Sam440EP was release and I was one of many BETA testers... SEE: http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=24514&forum=17 2) Then we convince AmigaOS, MorphOS and AROS groups to experiment with the machines as is. This may require a BOUNTY to raise money to buy LimeBooks for these developers. 3) Then cross our fingers and pray!_________________ Quote:

Another issue is the PowerVR MBX GPU, not only is it a bit old for that price (one can get an OpenPandora handheld with the later SGX for $330 USD) but it is also not natively supported at all by any AmigaOS distro we know of.
But I am still looking forward to the overall user/developer experience one gets from these LimePCs. |

First of all its wrong to call AmigaOS4, MorphOS or AROS distributions, they are infarct independent operating systems.
AmigaOS4 is continuation of AmigaOS3.1/3.5/3.9 based on source code they where able to get, but mostly rewritten because the source code was bad shape (68000 asm)
MorphOS is based on independent software like MUI, Cyber graphics and so on, then they filled in some of the gaps whit open source TinyGL, most have been hard work only working from 3.9 NDK header files, and OS3.9 NDK documentations.
AROS was also written from scratch, and has taken hell of long time.
It did take me about 6 mounts to get the C.W. MK 3 / 4 driver working for AmigaOS4, and I was not experienced, so I had to experiment and it was some thing I did after work, I think Hyperion can get a picasso96 driver working whit in 3 months or even less.
This most likely not the only driver they need write to get it working, but its most likely getting easier because the number of already existing drivers are increasing for every supported hardware platform.

| @meet.mrnrg The LimePC is/has been interesting, and I would *really* like to see AOS/MOS/AROS on one, but: 1. Pre-orders on ebay? I think eBay may take issue with that. 2. Pricing? LimeBook is supposed to retail at $250, but you're charging $500. WHY? It's not worth $500 with no OS of interest on it, an NC10 is far superior for a Linux netbook (or hackintosh, etc) 3. No OS of interest on them today.
I think you'd be better off getting a *clear* understanding of if this company is even capable of delivering, and in what quantities, as I got the impression they are not looking to sell into retail, only act as an OE...what would be the minimum numbers required, and CAN THEY DELIVER? If that all seems to check out, a few bounties and discussions with people from Hyperion, MOS, AROS etc, and possibly gifting a few seems like it'd do more than you trying to sell a Linux netbook on ebay for 2x the claimed retail...

| @meet.mrnrg: I agree with wegster, it´s too expensive, especially when it´s not sure, that AOS4.1 will run on it. Maybe you should talk with Hyperion first.

[Due to BOOM & BUST theory] Perhaps you can provide details of $250 systems? Do you know who has access to that stock? Which models / spec? How many units need to be purchased? When / Where are they available? Warranty? Support? etc..etc.. any URL's?

| @All Best hope for those seeking unit prices of less than ($500) is to gather money from Amiga users willing to donate money, to you. PURPOSE: On the whim that you may one day provide more Amiga support & software even if an Amiga OS doesn't surface for this system (Configuration) in a timely fashion.
The first BOUNTY for this project should be setup something like: Amiga OS on - LimePC Notebook Technology - Small feasibility study
I have already spent valuable time and money working on this project. _________________ Quote:
