Anyone have any details? Is this a previous iteration of the SAM Flex or other next gen Amiga hardware design? I have to say that I was kind of surprised to see a new hardware announcement from Amiga Inc.

Regards,
Sky

Please look at the date: April 22nd. Most likely from several years ago...

That's the ACK announcement. Forget about it. Everyone else here will scream hoax at you for bringing it up again.

That was years ago and few people believed it then.

I won't scream, but I'll post my usual response.

Adam worked on "designs" (the operative word in the amiga.com news articles).
Adam and Bill parted ways amicably with nothing proceeding beyond the design phase.
/end story

Shame that Amiga Inc never publically admitted that it was cancelled, because it's hard to tell what Amiga Inc is working on & what they just can't be bothered with. e.g. AmigaAnywhere2.

True, but it was not in their best interest to announce that.
I only mentioned this because, at the time, SAM sales were possibly being affected by a lot of "wait for something else" talk. Despite what people think about their personal relationship with Adam, I still think he was just knocking on every door he saw possible to bring something hardware-wise to the community. Laugh if you will, but it's one aspect of his character I believe to be genuine.
Bill had moved on to something else (idea wise), but that would be for him to say. It would be silly to mention it, since "ideas" change so often and so quickly in amigaland, and we all know the credibility issues when it comes to AI.

Like several say, that was years ago. Back in 2007 actually. Now that Amiga Inc lost all the rights to AmigaOS over to Hyperion Entertainment, it simply means that Amiga Inc are no longer in any control of the rights for AmigaOS. If they want to use elements of AmigaOS for their products, then they have to ask Hyperion Entertainment for license, and Hyperion won't be so foolish making an easy choice with that..

Amiga Inc are free to make Amiga products related to their Amiga Anywhere and hardwares branded Amiga, except anything related to AmigaOS. That belongs
to Hyperion Entertainment...

I'm sure ACK even had good intentions at some point, and he had been involved in the AmigaOne line somehow, supposedly discovering the IDE fix as I heard the story, I think he'd been involved with MicroA1 layout somehow as well.

But announcing new motherboards and then just vanishing without a word did lead most people here to redefine him as a hoax. Partnering with Amiga Inc. at all didn't help his reputation either.

Did you expected here a different answer than what people gave on amiga.org already?

I doubt we will ever heard much from Amiga Inc anymore. It will be Hyperion Entertainment who will have the most interesting news regarding the future
of AmigaOS..

Has ACK/Adam resurfaced since that announcement?

At one point he lived within about 15 minutes of me.

No sign of Adam. There were reports that he started accepting AmigaOne hardware repair work and then refused to return an AmigaOne to its owner!

@Rob
No need to stretch the truth: As far as I am aware, all but one user got their board back. I am glad that he finally did return (all but one of) the boards he was holding for repair, although it is a mystery why he held them so long, and why one was (and presumably is) still outstanding.
