| One of the best Engineers in my eyes, got me in to Electronics and computers, helped me with my AMIGA issues when I had them, all round TOP bloke. One of the people that made AMIGA, GREAT.
All the best to you Dave, have a great one! Last edited by SHADES on 22-May-2010 at 02:52 PM.

Right on. I bought my copy of The Deathbed Vigil direct from Dave and he signed it. Well cool. I know he is shaking is head in disbelief with how the platform has evolved (from his interview). I fundamentally share a similar view myself, but that's not to be mentioned on here as there are a lot of people who think everything went and continues in the right direction post-Commodore. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

Mr Ryu, don't see you 'round these parts much nowadays. You're probably like me, coming and going in waves as the interest (and frustration) takes you. Its mad how long we have been on this site, you joined exactly 2 months before me! _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

| If Dave were to like AROS over OS4 would you still love him?

What would that have to do with anything? You would have to be very narrow minded to dislike a guy just because he has a different opinion when it comes to OSes. |

Nostromo: "So, in other words, the new Amiga will do stuff that current PCs dont? Nice. With which OS?"
David Haynie: Well, they're letting you fill in that assumption, rather than just outright saying it. It would be really nice if Amiga wanna-be computer companies stopped doing this.. what's the point of raising Amigaoid hopes once again, just to smash them. I would like this to not be another one of those, but really... not much to expect here. PowerPC CPUs have a hard time beating Intel Atoms on performance these days (and the ARM may be a valid competitor, soon). I can't imagine how this is going to be anything but overpriced and underwhelming.

| @koft Yes and he Says "he would like to be proven wrong" that post is from the 8th of January 2010 during the "mistery" period. He never expressed a single word about it afterward (assuming the "18 total posts" guy there is truly the man). Moreover I would be careful with that "wannabe companies": I love good Engineers/programmers that "join later" and that despite the old group being now gone, still manage to further develop Amiga and I don't see Haynie belonging to Amiga's initial group (you know Miner/Sassenrath/RJ.Mical/Morse etc.). Commodore was a company that got Amiga from Miner and co. (it wasn't their project at all) and Haynie was a very good guy that joined the Amiga project later on (so both him and the company, Commodore, were "late comers" so too speak). This is because you don't necessarily need to be part of the original group to further develop technology IPs, Haynie knows this better than anyone.
So long live good engineer/programmers that join later and help Amiga (past, present and future).

| @Arko Very interesting post, in the end Hanyie explains that the custom architecture would have been abandoned anyway, sooner or later, even at Commodore. _________________ A1200/020+68882 - 6 MB RAM - AmigaOS 3.0
