You know what I would like to see, and East and West coast show but with multiple "computer" platforms so the show is larger, more diverse, and maybe bring in many more people.
I for one enjoy many older platforms so a show for example that had Amiga, Atari, Commodore, etc... would be sweet.

Having more platforms represented might actually get some people that are Atari fans, or those of other platforms interested in becoming Amiga users after they see how active the Amiga community still is and that there is still new hardware and OS progress being made. _________________ Amiga! This idea has been brought up many times before and I am sure there is quite a bit of interest. In fact our little (informal) user group (Upstate New York Amiga Users Group) is planning a get together in Albany, NY on 1/14. The group of us are trying to gauge attendance in order to pick the right venue. On the other board one guy from Ohio showed interest which was really cool to see.
I think Philadelphia, PA would be a great location for an larger-scale event and the abundance of cheap locations for such an event. Oh and my biased ties to the city. :)
But getting back to our gathering, by all means - if anyone is interested in our 1/14 meeting all are welcome :)

That is how it has happened for me. Atari user, Mac user, many other platform user, finding Amiga in 2010 when I was not really a fan at that time. Now I am. tj |

| I'd probably have gone to Vegas if my youngest son's birthday wasn't the same weekend as Amiwest.
I'm an exAmiga user who hasn't had one in a couple decades, but enjoys reading about the community.
An east coast show would be easier for me to attend. |

I would indeed be interested in some type of east coast show, but it would have to be closer to Atlanta, Ga. for me to attend :)

You should be more specific. If East Coast means Detroit or New York, probably not interested. If East Coast means Florida, Georgia or Alabama, maybe interested. _________________ Power Mac G4 "Quicksilver 2002" 800Mhz, 1.5GB RAM, Radeon 8500 MorphOS 2.7 (Registered) $225 total spent! |

I don't think a show in Hull would be all that well attended. Maybe the bright lights of Great Yarmouth would do better? _________________ When in trouble, fear or doubt, run in circles, scream and shout. |

That's really amazing! We are glad you have joined the interesting world of Amiga computing.
As for an East Coast show....I'd drive to North Carolina to go to one. What ever happened to the big North Carolina Amiga Users group?

It still exists and a few members are still active here on AW and elsewhere.

YES!
I was disappointed that the Hunt Valley Maryland (Baltimore/DC area) show only happened once. I also thought it was weird that I was the only attendee to the panel with Haynie, Finkel, etc. though that was cool to have them to myself for a chat. :) Last edited by billt on 28-Oct-2011 at 02:28 PM.
