| Because there is need and no forum just for development (software/hardware) I am setting up a forum for all camps (classic, AOS4, MOS, Aros).
http://forum.natami-news.de/index.php
I would like to know what you think about structure and what should I change |

Erm… what's the actual name of your site/ forum cos it's not very clear what is called…
The URL says… natami-news
The header/ title bar says… Development on Amiga & "simple machines forum"…
So it's a wee bit confusing to know how to refer to your site if anyone were to ask…
Other than that it looks clearly laid out and easy to read/ follow… _________________

Good idea, lets hope a lot join in, nothing better than collaboration between developers. _________________ Amiga 1000, 3000D Toaster, Checkmate A1500 Plus http://www.checkmate1500plus.com/ |

I have used this domain because I already use it for amiga and it is easier (and cheaper) to create a subdomain than getting a new one. But I could change it when necessary |

I hope that too. Most sites are not really developer-orientated so I hope it will fill a gap |

I see, I've bookmarked it under "Simple Machines Forum" for now...
I hope you can encourage enough folk to get involved and maybe revive an interest in coding once again for the entire Amiga range... _________________

Instead of having yet another forum on the Internet that let's face it may see little to no traffic. Why not send me a request @ Amiga.org to set this up for you? Then if all the mods are cool with it your programming forums will have a nice home for free on high traffic Amiga/MorphOS/AROS/Classic Amiga site.
It will help the community and make your programming forum idea grow and expand. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer. |

Not so sure. A site that is dedicated 100% to programming might save it from the noise that you find on other sites/forums. Should become easier to evaluate on/off topic posts too that way. |

| @Olaf would be good to have utilitybase replacement. could you house their content if rescued? or simpler even, revive it, taking over the administration!?
utilitybase has a number of resources worth it. Last edited by wawa on 28-Nov-2012 at 11:58 AM.

nothing against amiga.org (and other sites), but there is too much "noise" there so people asked to have a site that is solely dedicated to programming/hardware without other topics/discussions. |

No offence, but if the intention is to have a site which is truly "camp-neutral" then having it set up independently of the big sites is probably a good idea. I've long since disregarded Amiga.org as a "general" cross-platform site due to the continuous battles between the trolls, the zealots and the in betweeners caught in the crossfire. Such noise would most likely lead to a very short life for a forum such as OlafS25's proposal.
@OlafS25
It's an excellent idea, and something which has been missing for a while now (since UtilityBase sank). OS4Coding.net is great, but limited, especially since most of the skills and knowledge are readily transferrable across all of the Amiga-oid platforms. For this reason I hope it takes off and flourishes. If it becomes popular, I'm sure a few donations would easily cover the cost of a domain name to point at your space. _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |

First there is not a really neutral forum and many developers are nerved by the discussions that are also around (including all that "True amiga successor", "Amiga done right" and so on).
I would like to have it a pure developer/development forum, not covering topics typical for user and of course all the other topics. It was not my idea at the start, it came from outside and I asked if there would be interest for such a special forum. |

No offence but like others have said it's much better to have a site dedicated to coding/ development that's away from all the usual "noise" as found on the likes of A.org and here…
OlafS25 has already proven he's going to keep things in order on his site by removing a "test" thread after I suggested it's contents may put some folk off jointing the site…
So for folk that want to chat/ collaborate and swap ideas on all aspects of coding for all flavours of the Amiga then Olafs site certainly looks like it's going to be the best option to do so without topics being taken off track by pointless banter…
There are plenty of sites where general banter can be done already and there are plenty of Amiga users out there who don't go near sites like Aw or A.org because of all the "noise" so who knows, some of them might join Olafs site if they know they can chat about coding in peace and that it will be kept that way…
Theres plenty of room on the net for such a site, just remember A.org/ EAB and AW.net don't represent all those Amiga users still out there many of whom where put off visiting these sites a long time ago due to the constant infighting and non Amiga topics… _________________
