I was reading about this program and am interested in finding a copy of it. The website said that there was an Amiga version way back when, but I couldn't find much about it on the web, anyone have it or know where I could get a copy? (Also: what MIDI boxes/cards does it support)

@Jeffimix

It was really a long way back, I remember seing it advertised in 1989. It was written for OS 1.3, and I doubt a more modern version has ever been made for the Amiga.

Regards,
Trixie

I got a copy of the demo version, but you probably wanted the full version? It no longer works under OS4.1; complains that a non existent minifont has been found...

@Jeffimix

I have it. But I am far to ill to try to dig it up for you, sorry. I am sure it is around on the net somewhere. The net never forgets

It was a very highly regarded and expensive music program but it was only for MIDI. I quickly discovered that MIDI was not for me so I did not use M very much. Live and learn.

If u like MIDI then I recommend u to try it out for sure. It seemed like a lot of work went into creating that software. It had a kazillion features.

@wawa

there are no missing fonts, it's complaining that it's found a font that doesn't exist...

@Valiant

Complaining about a font that IS available? That is a bit odd.
I don't know of minifont, but "little.font" is added to the available
fonts whenever classic Bars&Pipes is running, and disappears
when it is shut down.
I guess my point is that some programs carry their fonts
internally, and simply create them as needed. This has apparently
been done for a while, but I saw my first example only last week.

you could ask the guys from cycling'74 who maintain the last mac version...
maybe they have access to the last amiga version...

http://cycling74.com/products/m/

btw: a pure data version for amiga platforms would be awesome.

edit: my bad. they state on their website that they have no idea about it's whereabouts:
So, what about those Atari, PC, and Amiga versions?

As far as we know, the Atari ST version still works, since, unlike the Macintosh, that OS has “stopped evolving.” Tim’s Atari MIDI World has a page devoted to Atari M. You never know, someone you know might keep an ST around to run M. We have no information about the Amiga version. Someone who has a strong interest in reviving a PC version of M contacted Voyetra and discovered that they no longer have the source code to M/pc, which should tell you how well the program sold on that platform.

Seems OS4 need more work in the errors corner. That error sounds like it contradicts itself. It claims a font doesn't exist and then says it is found. Huh?
