This adapter allows you to use the following display modes:

DBLPal
DBLNTSC
Euro 36Hz and 72Hz
Multiscan/Productivity
Super72
VGA Only

This display modes also have the advantage of better refresh rates than standard modes.

Adapter features a 23-pin female to 15-pin female

* The SVGA monitor must be able to sync to the Amiga's 31.5Khz signal (Most monitors have no problem doing this). Adapter may vary in appearance.

@IOWASURFER

Firstly, you DID mean Amigakit, not Amikit, didn't you?

Secondly, although I haven't personally used that particular version of the adapter, these things generally work just fine.... that is, if you can live without certain Amiga native screenmodes.

Hope that helps.

@IOWASURFER

The adaptor worked just fine with my A4000.
The accepted method (after checking to be sure you have the monitors you mentioned in devs:monitors, is:
(1)If you have a working 1084 you save VGA only, which DOES work in every monitor I've seen.
(2)Then you can "test" the other modes to see which you prefer.
DBLPal and DBLNTSC are probably the most useful.

Do you have access to an A520 video adaptor to use with a TV, so you can at least make this change to prefs/screenmode visibly?

@number6

Yepp I meant amigakit...

Will this work with my amiaga 2000's and 500's
??????????????????????????????????????

Also I have nothing but a bunch of old 17" dell vga svga monitors

So I think i will buy a bunch of those amigakit rgb23 to 15vga adapters
and get my 3 amigas back online...

I had one 1084 that died, last night :(

Joe

@IOWASURFER

This is the Commodore part.
http://Amigahardware.mariomisic.de/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=733

afaik, it worked with my A500 too. Just no built in flickerfixer on the A500, which the A4000 has.

You realize you lose native modes, right?
If you get an A520 for one of your machines, you can play your games and use the VGA adaptor for your A2000 perhaps?

Anyway...read up on the A520 here:

And this thread with even more links to threads about A520 on AW:

@IOWASURFER

Just make sure you do understand that this will not work on Amiga-native (the ones most commonly used by games that won't start from the workbench) screens! On native screens this only works if you've got a PC monitor that will sync low enough (15 kHz), this is most probably not the case with the Dell monitors.
