No government agency would choose AmigaOS over Linux on objective preferences. For starters, Linux is "free" and open source. And then you must also factor in the inherent lack of security in AmigaOS(unless it's security through obscurity), some missing features and the fact that it only runs on very expensive hardware. Even if you would do a x86 port(which is not that much work for a team of dedicated engineers, most of it is written in C, the only exception being Petunia but that's not needed anyway), you're still left with a OS that's stuck in 1994. Arguably(IMHO), MorphOS would be the best starting point if one would like to build a modern (re)implementation of AmigaOS. _________________
