If you check my comments well i said Linux and macOS miss the software not infrastructures (which are still not on par with Windows, but alas).
I play Crysis 2 on Windows, Mac and Linux are left in the dust. I use composite with support for 2K real time movie effects thanks to AVX support (on sandy bridge) and direct PCE-E HD support thanks to Autodesk Composite (again Linux and Mac left in the dust).
It's not just about having some form of support, but having the ultra latest optimized version (for that support) to use on actual commercial software.
Windows is where you want to be for that, make no mistake about it.
