Hi,

Some time ago i bought one of these very low cost USB floppy emulator from ebay to play some ADF files on my Amiga.
Unfortunately these drives was unable to support/emulate the Amiga sectors encoding scheme and couldn’t work on Amiga computers...

But the news is that the Gotek USB Floppy emulators are now working with Amiga thanks to a new firmware rewritten from scratch!

Main features : ADF read/write support, Amiga control software, USB key support (FAT12,FAT16,FAT32)...

To get the details :

Funny, this reads just like an advertisement.

@tonyw

As long as it's news and it's Amiga-related, and will help people, I don't have a problem with that, personally.

I don't see you complaining about read adverts in forum like :
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=38519&forum=32#72449

And there is plenty of these.
This forum post actually is free for the user, I don't see the poster getting any money for giving the information and the firmware for this for free.

@H.M

Great solution!

@Develin

Maybe I misunderstood it, then. I got the impression that the poster was advertising hardware and firmware for sale. There is no mention of it being free in the post.

Mind you, I have no argument with it, either, as long as it is clear that it is an advertisement and not just another "Hey, look at this that I'm offering for sale on EBay!"

Sorry if I'm too cynical.

@cymru

As you know already, author is not reselling them on e-bay. He gave us solution to buy and flash on our own.

However, now we have strange situation. He gave firmware for usage, but because of the fact that someone else sell it, he will not be developing new firmware versions any more?

Strange. I suggested that he opens donation channel or something, which would cover expenses of new FW versions, but no news still.

Seems like these leftovers in Amiga community (We all) are sheep which certain individuals use just for earning extra bucks, selling some common pieces of hardware fore ridiculous prices, for example one Scandoubler costs 200€, and you can buy laptop for that price these days.Quote:
