Little video I just knocked up

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPT7SmVEpjc

1.x era apps, I'll do 2.x and 3.x soon, any suggestions for apps I should show in those?

Also, top marks for whoever can name all the games/mods? :)

@danwood

Ok. This is one of the coolest AOS1.3 video I have ever seen!!!

May I say: PROFESSIONAL!

I've used wb in multitasking since the beginning, when most of my friends used Amiga via CLI & one app at a time.

Is this from a real classic with HDD?
(the speed seems authentic/identical to my old A2000+3Mb+7Mhz+Golem20MbHDD)

I hope I one day have that kind of 1.x system up and running again, for nostalgia!

And I just realized that those apps were just small example what people had installed on their 1.x systems with hard drive (around 1991-1992). Digipaint, Vista, ADpro, Aegis Audiomaster, Deluxe Music, Aegis Draw, Real3D, ....

@DanWood:

Hey, nice video, man... :)

And it has all the classics, Juggler, Boing Ball, King Tut in Deluxe Paint... ;)

Brings a tear to my eyes...

@clusteruk

Loved it. Makes me wanna dig my A1000 out of my closet. Hmmm... I better go make a Kickstart copy before the disk degrades totally, if it hasn't already.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but is there any way to beautify Workbench on an OCS machine?

@BigBentheAussie

yes there was. But it depend on what beuty means for a person...

I had some bacdrop pictures on my A2000 setup and copper colorslides.

But especially bacdrop pictures tend to be overkill with 512...1024kb chip RAM Amigas. Especially if one preferred to have wb running also when paintingt or animating. I ended up using pretty standard WB1.3.

@danwood

Nice! However, some apps are from OS2 era (eg. Devpac, year 1991) - they are simply OS1.x compatible.

For 3.x: Desktop Dynamite/Magic Pack (eg. Wordworth 3.5/4.0, DPaint 4 AGA, PPaint).

I think you can join together 2.x and 3.x eras - there are only minor differences in user interface (and more colours with AGA hardware of course).

Interestingly, the standard user interface on a A500 WB 1.3 is still faster than windows
on a dual core 2ghz thing.

What you say is some what true for Windows XP, but whit the latest PC graphics and windows 7 and Quad Intel I7 you get where fast user interface, mostly because of 3d acceleration.

But also notice the Window dragging under AmigaOS 1.X are not solid only outer-line is moved, also one thing you did not notice is that clock stops while moving windows, this is because under AmigaOS only one program can do stuff on the screen at one time, window resizing and dragging while clockwhere running where first possible whit the MCP patch in 1990's, latter it become official in AmigaOS4, the problem was always CPU power and video memory speed and acculturation.

Will have a look when I get home, but I just have to ask, does it include any music program like NoiseTracker??!?

NoiseTracker was the sole reason I bought an Amiga in '92.
