@Drako

Mind teh date - but I doubt this is a fooling. Time for foolings is more than up. Has to be real.
And that is - to put it to simplest words - a pretty d*mn good thing!

@Drako

Hopefully not an April Fools joke, with 14 months between 'updates' to that page, and zero content.

@wegster

Is MorphOS something that can be used with or on an Amiga 1200 based PPC machine and OS4? Thanks.

Ed

It can be used on an Amiga 1200, a Pegasos and as of 2.0 an Efika and possibly a Mac Mini PPC.

@Zardoz

COOL ! Does that also mean the Amiga friendly emulation from 1.3-3.9 returns in this version as well?? Also, are there many games/apps for MorphOS? I've seen screenshots of the previous versions of MorphOS and liked it, I'm sure this version will look nice as well. Thanks.

@edponpon

The AmigaOS compatibility won't go away on any (?) version, the AmigaOS API is the native API MorphOS uses, so yes you can still run AmigaOS apps on it. There are various apps for it.

@edponpon

MorphOS 2.0 for PowerUp will be released later than MOS 2.0 for Pegasos & Efika. But MorphOS 1.4.5 is available for these maschines right now.
MOS 2.0 for PowerUp will be free but supportless, just like V1.4.5, but don't hold your breath for a relase date.
MOS 2.0 for Efika & Pegasos will be commercial (a price is not publically confirmed yet), same goes most probably for the Mac Mini version. A realistic expectation for MOS 2.0 for the *Mac Mini* should be for end of this year. The focus is on the Pegasos and Efika where we'll see the public release within this quarter.

As I've been saying for a while, I'll buy an Efika the day MorphOS 2 is released.

@Gleng
Well, my Peg shows up tomorrow.

As MOS2.0 is a commercial product, we'll see when it comes out what it offers me, and at what price, but I expect I'll buy it, and see if I like it compared to OS4 on my A1.

@wegster

I haven't had a chance to play with any of the next-gen Amiga systems yet (apart from AROS obviously), so I'm looking forward to being able to pick up some relatively cheap hardware to play with MorphOS on.

When the A1s were available, I waited for the Micro A1-I, which never materialised. I've been waiting ever since.

Are Efika's still manufactured?

(Note: I said "manufacturered" NOT "sold", since stocks of obsolete products can still be around for a while.)

I think Genesi are doing/have done another production run for the release of MOS2. Perhaps BBRV can explain if he/she is reading?

@ChrisH

A production run can be done at any time. All parts are available, the board meets all current standards (RoHS and stuff like that). Production is not continuous, but in batches. Once a batch is sold, another batch is produced (as long as there is demand). AFAIK the production is still done at DCE, Germany.
