I hate when places do that. I once had a dealer send me a different hard drive than what I ordered because they ran out of exactly what I wanted. But they sent me a cheaper drive according to prices on their web site at the time but did not adjust how much they charged me for the order. I really wish they'd call and ask about changes first isntad of just assuming that their "helping" is the right thing to do.

@xenec

Acube have informed us that they will start shipping out the CDs when they get back from their holidays (around the 26th) so we should have the product about a week later.

Edit: CD Duplication is still ongoing so product will ship in September

Thanks, I think I need it with all the foul luck I've had. I am going to hop on this one right away then.

I know what you mean. Looks like I cannot use the one they sent me, but at least they sent me upgraded one for the lower price. I decided to keep it. Maybe I will run into someone who can use the 9800 PRO.

According to AmigaKit, OS4.1 sells for $166. That is *really* cheap for something as complex as an OS, in fact it's just over the price of two console games. The only reason I personally haven't bought a copy yet is uncertainty over the future of the platform (I bought a whole bunch of Amiga hardware just before CBM folded, and I guess I haven't quite gotten over it yet). As soon as the lawsuit is resolved in a way that is favorable for the future of OS4.x, I will be ordering a copy.

USB2 support?
USB Scanner support? (*)
Ability to open big JPEG files (>20MB) with 2 GB of memory? (*)
Driver for GB Ethernet card(s)?
Support for RAID?
FS Support to boot TB HDD (and tools to recover data)? (*)
Support to boot from a Sil3114? (*)

(*) These are a minimal requirement for me right now before considering an (update of an) OS.

Bye,
TMTisFree

Don't you need a program that supports a scanner first? way not use a Foto Camera?

Quote:

Way do you make pictures that big? normal size of a jpeg is 1 to 5mb.
If it does not work it most likely a bug in the jpeg datatype or in a internal codec of program your using.

This one shuld be possible whit the current UBOOT version 1.1, if you use the console or workbench/uboot prefs program.

It is not possible to (cold)boot from a sii3114, somebody at os4welt.de has tried it a few days ago.

Some people have high spec digital cameras that take pics in this size, also it could be a large poster or somesuch?

Multiview with the correct datatype should be able to support that IMHO.

These are currently being worked on, and are progressing nicely

I wasn't aware that this didn't work. I do not have any files this size to test it with, but I can't see why it wouldn't work

Yes, with a supporting driver (raid.device)

AmigaOS4.0 on AmigaONE does not use "Poseidon USB".
There is a PowerPC native USB stack and PCI standard API included in AmigaOS4.0.

"Poseidon USB" needs OpenPCI,
"Poseidon USB" and OpenPCI are not open source, so "Poseidon USB" can not work on AmigaONE.

And yes it possible to use SDK API documentations to make some kind of OpenPCI clone, or "Poseidon USB" clone, but it time consuming work and not worth my time or anyone else time, when AmigaOS4 has it own PCI and USB standard.

The system reports it is out of memory with very big JPEG files.

Included in OS4.1 or planned?

Thanks for your other positive responses.

I have a very good one, I just miss an USB driver for the scanner.

I have some in the range of 10-50MB that decompresses up to 600MB. I though that 2GB of memory would be enough.
