Hi!

I just uploaded a new version of DOpus to both Aminet and OS4Depot, they should be approved shortly.

This new version adds some small fixes, but the main thing for release is 64bit support in listers and copy command. I haven't had any problems with it so far, and neither have the good people of the DOpus ML. Feel free to post here or mail me if you find any problems with this release.

Regards,
Joachim Birging

@zerohero

Way to go pal. But shouldn't you make a news item out of this?

@Moxee

I probably should, but I'm too lazy and tired at the moment. I'll do that tomorrow.

@zerohero

Sounds good to me. Just make a link to this thread for making suggestions, etc.

I am ashamed to say that I have not tired it yet.

@zerohero

Thanks man, will install shortly.

Is there a 68k version of the newer builds like this? I'd like to use it on my 68k Amigas. I get rather annoyed when the right mouse clicking on the end borders doesn't bring up a device list.

@zerohero

Thanks! Use it every day and could not live without it. It's a shame Magellan isn't GPL (yet) so you could get this running on OS4 aswell!

I have a problem though that I think showed in one of the latest versions: I can only open on text or hex viewer at a time because DOpus gets a sleepy pointer and is blocked while the text or hex viewer is open. It did not use to be this way.

I can't find any configuration option I might have set wrong. Can you please take a look at it??! (The text viewer is on its own screen, as is DOpus itself.

And also the old problem of not being able to use the icon info from within DOpus because trying to save brings up a requester saying "Error: object is in use" is also rather annoying... You said once you didn't have this problem and wasn't using DOpus on its own screen.

@Deniil715

The text-viewer has changed slightly. It will not block if you double-click a text file. It will block if you use the "read" button.

Regarding the icon info problem I can't reproduce it. Are you sure you're using the internal "IconInfo" command?

Mine blocked when I double-clicked so I did a little investigating. I have a "Text" filetype set up to use the internal Dopus "Read" command. If I change the "Text" filetype to call an ARexx script that calls the "Read" command through the Dopus ARexx port, it does not block. I also tried deleting my "Text" filetype and "Default" filetype and double-clicking does not block then either. It appears to me that if you call the "Read" command directly it's blocking but if you call the "Read" (or SmartRead or HexRead) command through the Dopus ARexx port or allow the filetypes to fall through to the internal Dopus "default" action it's non-blocking.

I could not reproduce the IconInfo problem either.

@zerohero

would it not make sense to place the (most used) buttons between the 2 listers instead of below them ? that would decrease the mouse-speed-o-meter.

could this be implemented ? (and yes I donated to ZeroHero/Jocke Birging)

thanks a lot for this update

@lionstorm

I rather do as little as possible with the current GUI. I find it hopelessly difficult to change anything. So no, sorry, I won't implement that, even though it would be useful.
