Looks like more AROS 68K integration (Janus UAE), with 68K apps running on the WB`s screen windows.
Strange thing is that I`ve installed this long time ago, over it I used RunInUAE and on top the latest update (practically another RunInUAE distribution).... It`s a mess! _________________ Ordell Robbie: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much. |

Thanks for your great support!
@Cass
Unfortunately I don't have the time for detailed explanations, but here are a few quick notes: * glUAE is not an emulator, but it makes use of the UAE version you have on your system; * glUAE can run software also in fullscreen - it all depends on how you configure UAE and your software; * for full explanations, please refer to the website http://www.retream.com/glUAE/. _________________ RETREAM - retro dreams for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC |

Fabulous! Thanks, Saimo.
When (if) I get my A1XE up and running again, I'll certainly be giving this another outing.
Keep up the good work! _________________ Fred Booth ======================================== A500, A600, A1200 c/w Mediator and 030 AmigaOne and OS4.1 Mac LCII, G4 Powermac running OSX + Amigakit and MorphOS 3.0 Dell Mini 10 Netbook running IcAros and AmigaForever+Amikit+AmigaSys 2006 Macb |

Thanks, I hope it will make your experience better And best luck with your A1!
@all
BTW, the best way to test glUAE, after installing it, is trying one of the so-called "helpers" that can be downloaded from the HELPERS page of the website.
@samo79
Prego!
@noXLar
Despite the naming, glUAE has nothing to do with OpenGL: the name is a pun based on "glue" + "UAE", as my tool is a layer that glues UAE to the OS. Last edited by saimo on 08-Mar-2012 at 05:34 PM.

glUAE does interfere with RunInUAE, as it directly runs UAE.
EDIT: hey, just realized that this makes for a good line to add to the documentation... Last edited by saimo on 08-Mar-2012 at 08:11 PM.

well thats only if you try to run 68k programs at the same time with both glUAE and RunInUAE, else they live happily together under OS4.1.

The only likely consequence I can think of is a global slowdown, as running two instances of UAE at the same time is demanding. Other than that,I don't think that UAE has troubles running in multiple instances (for sure the EvilRich's WIP4 version works perfectly), nor that RunInUAE does dirty things that may cause problems._________________ RETREAM - retro dreams for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC |

In case anybody was let down by the Deluxe Galaga helper, well, that was only because the game archive URL had changed - now I have updated the helper accordingly. While at it, I made some minor improvements to all helpers and tested them all to make sure that the sources they refer to are valid (and, yes, they were).
Enjoy! _________________ RETREAM - retro dreams for Amiga, Commodore 64 and PC |
