Hi Folks!

Has anybody of you heard something new about the progress of LibreOffice for AOS4?
Really looking forward to using it in Amiga natively.

Regards
Andi

Certainly does not sound too promising. Good news is, Final Writer 2015 is close to being release. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w131/Kalamatee/FinalWriter2015-006_zps1e4ycd2e.jpg

It would certainly be nice if it was but are you just speculating based on the screenshots or has Tim actually stated as much?

Software that originates on the Amiga is preferable to ports but it might be some time before FW can load and save modern document formats.

Have you been following the development of Cinnamon Writer?

It already has support for DocX and While compatibility is far from perfect in the current public release, back in March Claus Desler was asking here for a small team of testers familiar with using Word on a daily basis.

Check out the thread below.

@damocles

This would be nice. Doesn't Kalamatee only do Aros stuff, though? What I mean is, would it be available for more than Aros?

@Rob

I hadn't seen that bit of news about Libre Office. Excellent!

Cinnamon Writer is also a good little program.

@OldAmigan

All good progress, but for me the awful print functionality it AOS4 makes having a modern WP a bit pointless.

@OldAmigan

Tim has always said that it'll be ported to OS4 and MorphOS too.

I didn't see that. That's cool, what is the requirements for it to run on the Amiga, WB 2.x or higher? Will it be a free download?

For the official word, you need to talk to Tim about the different releases.

I doubt it will take a significant amount of time before those formats are supported. Tim clearly knows that people need those formats as soon as possible. What I like about Tim is he is all about giving people what they want at a price aimed at the masses.

As per what Tim has posted before, Final Writer 2015 will be released for Amiga 68K, AROS, MOS, and OS4.

Sometimes debugging can be 95% of time. :)

I wonder why Calligra Suite hasn't get any atention? It offers prety much same funtionality than OO, but most of debencies has alredy ported to Amiga OS. Only some KDE libraries is missing. Are those libraries too difficult?

@Rob

Completed ?
Like Timberwolf i presume ...

As "completed" they maybe intend it was compilated and it start ... but considering the nature of the program i really really doubt it will be any usable (for the first release atleast)
