Indeed happy to report i have no problems either with Facebook on my X5000

Should a website not load properly I often find the spoof as function works well, defaulting to spoof as I-pad 99 times out of 100 will tend to resolve these type of problems.

You tube videos also display in a slightly bigger window than they would in spoof as IPad mode than they would compared to other spoof settings, although seeing as we have SmTube which will open up in Mplayer or Emotion and stream in 720p full screen it's rare you have to use the browser.

I have no big problem with Facebook, only that take lot mem, and is bit slow, and some time the layout is strange when post, and nagging from FB to upgrade my browser.

Yes it's worked fine on my X1000. Fast enough to do messaging. Messenger must be the only thing that's slower than typing in an email with YAM on my A120/030. It's almost bearable on A1/XE. But on my PowerBook G4 1.5Ghz impossible to use even though it's faster than my A1. For a real world benchmark time the delay between key presses when using any Facebook site.

No issue of slow typing in chat on G5 quad on Firefox Linux (yes on x5000/40 linux)
Leopard ppc
no issue in teen4fox ... webkit crash. No issue in roccat browser.

2.5Ghz quad core? That would be fast enough. The sort of power Facebook needs.

The latest Safari Webkit build seems fairly stable.

On my 1.5Ghz single core PowerBook it's slow as. About one char a sec and five secs to wait for it to stop typing so I can go back and fix a mistake. It must be one of the worse coded sites out there.

Messenger is driving computers to be way faster because it needs a huge amount of horse power in order to do litle more than basic text editing. Who would have thought you needed a 64-bit power house monster just to type a message on a website. 3d is out, Facebook messages are in.

After reading various threads that tlosm has posted replies in, or threads he has created, since he began reporting his dissatisfaction with his X5000 P5040, it appears very clear that he is most upset with himself, for ever thinking that any version of the X5000 could compete with the fastest Mac G5 models. It is very hard for me to understand how someone who appears to be a smart person, with knowledge about the PPC architecture, could make such a mistake, then begin crying like a baby because he spent so much money on not one X5000, but two of them, and then figured out that his quad G5 PowerMac was much faster at running Linux for PPC.

How much longer with tlosm reply to every thread that has anything to do with the X5000 (and some that don't even mention the X5000), trying to convince other X5000 owners, and potential X5000 owners, that the X5000 is not worth the purchase price, and that they should instead buy a G5 PowerMac to run Linux (which is silly, because Linux runs many times faster on cheaper x64 hardware)?

Man up and admit that it was your own mistake to buy 2 X5000's with your primary interest to run Linux for PPC on them. From all other reports, the X5000 seems to run AmigaOS4.1FE faster than any other alternative, and that is the primary target market for A-Eon and AmigaKit.

I do feel your pain, because you sold a great A4000 system to allow you to buy the X5000's, but it is your own fault for doing that, not anyone else. You have made your point that the X5000 P5040 has some design faults, and that it doesn't run Linux for PPC as fast as you wanted it to, but repeating that info into every thread on this forum is getting old and is not needed by anyone.
