@Seiya

New X1000 benchmark thread without any new X1000 benchmark results?

I was lured to look as I thought there's x1000 Gallium results. :-/

And ... when we will never get nvidia support for x1000, prepare to get Radeon results also from x86.

But anyway, interesting results for x1000 alltogether, even if only one core is so far in use.

btw. some common HDDbenchmark would be nice as well (it would be more favorable towards Amiga, I think)

@Pavlor
look better :)
X1000 benchmark are present here.
This thread is a sommary ot the other pages..

@thread
X1000 now have Debian Linux wi th, i think, alla cpu and gpu optimization and possibility to use Mesa + Gallium.
For now, a parte, a video where i saw linux loading, i don't see nothing..
A benchmark with linux now is a must!

@itix

I am trying to get a stable and error free Debian Squeeze installation on a Sam440ep-Flex 800mhz . Just for fun.

For the Sun spider test under Debian with Epiphany Browser
Total: 16515.9ms 12.9%

Under OS4.1 update 4 with MUI-OWB
Total: 29862.8ms +/- 0.9%

@pavlor

Its pointless to post x86 gallium numbers. This has zero to do with actual real world numbers of a non existent amiga os port. Even if it was finished i'm sure the numbers wont come close to those you posted. So whats the point?

@realize

it's important to see gallium perfomance vs official driver linux and Windows.
But also to compare with Gallium on AROS in fullscreen and windowed.
One day we can see if Mesa + Gallium is better on OS4 hardware or on AROS or vs tinyGL

For 3D speed I will be interested:
Gallium3D speed on AOS4(PPC 0.7Ghz & 1.8Ghz) and AROS(x86 1.6Ghz & 3Ghz)

To my knowledge, we will not have Gallium3D for NVidia on AOS4.
To my knowledge, there is no Gallium3D for Radeon on AROS.
So, perhaps we need Linux Gallium for x86+HD4650 to compare driver maturity on similar HW (vs AOS4 system).

(some simple comparisson of 3D speed differences between Gallium and AMD drivers on HD4650 is enough what is nice to know for me about x86 in non-Amiga setups)

Also same for other tests if run on non-Amiga. Atom/E350 for low end and 3Ghz i3 for high end would be enough.

Can I respectfully ask that you remove the benchmark for blender using my bricks_and_water_plugin.blend

1. I did not create this as benchmark rather an example of how to use plugins under the AmigaOS port of blender. I would prefer that it not misused.

2. The results are almost completely meaningless. The blendfile uses three plugins which do not come as standrad in the blender install. they are available on the net but unlikely to be installed as standard. Further to that even if said plugins were installed, the bend file refers to them by the amiga names for them (.bplug extention, rather than .so or .dll) so they will not be loaded into the blend and processed.

You may ignore 1 if you wish I have no recourse to enforce it other than your respectfullness.

However as a result of point 2 any statistic for non AmigaOS4 version of blender will be at least twice as fast as the following testifies too....

6.AV:blender> bldyn -b projects/bricks_and_water_plugin.blend -o ram:pool -F JPEG -f 0
Blender is here AV:blender/bldyn

Sure, you can't stop others from misusing it, I don't expect that.

I don't have time to redo benchmarsk ATM but my results were posted here:

http://www.eofw.org/bench/index.php?sortby=6

Reasonably sure mine is number 7 on that list as it's stands at the moment.

It was done and posted somewhere here on AW. Result of X1000 (single core, OS4, Blender 2.48) was roughly between 6-7 minutes.

That was benchmark with test.blend (maybe 6.53 min if I remember correctly).
