| It's not proof, but maybe a ray of light in a dark situation.

| @Billsey The weapons he (might be) talking about aren't WMDs, but weapons used by insurgents.
A CNN article makes it clearer: how to find weapons arsenals used by those attacking coalition forces. _________________

Thanks for the laugh, Jack... I needed that. For the life of me I couldn't figure what you had said that was so bad, but just as I figured it out, I saw your next post. Funny. |

| The US shouldn't need Saddam to find WMD. The Bush regime stated all along that they are there and are easy to find...
"Iraq has stockpiled biological and chemical weapons, and is rebuilding the facilities used to make more of those weapons." - Oct 5, 2002 - Bush radio address.
"We know that the regime has produced thousands of tons of chemical agents, including mustard gas, sarin nerve gas, VX nerve gas." -Oct 7, 2002 -- Bush Ohio speach.
Thousands of tons? Wow! You'd think if Bush was correct we'd find evidence of it's use OR containers by now.
"Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent." - Jan 28, 2003 -- Bush State of the Union address.
Hmm, somehow in a year Saddam decreased thousandS of tons down to 500 tons. So in 1 year did Saddam sell or use 1.5 thousand tons? Assuming 'thousands' was 2 thousand at least.
Still the US has not found weapon creation facilities let nor the 500 tons of chemicals.
The ultimate question, which we'll probably never know, did the Bush Administration knowingly lie about the WMD or are they just incompetent.
If it were me and I was going to order a war. I'd have done my homework and then some and then some. OR at least defined the war as a continuation of the Iraq policy and their inability to adhere to conditions and leave WMD out of the picture.
My take -- Bush played up WMD trying to play on fears and doubt of Americans after 9/11 and roll the action in Iraq as part of the War on Terror and try to indirectly tie Saddam and Al Qaida as involved with each other.
