Sony replaced their CEO recently. Part of the reason may be their 2011 results. Nearly $3Billion in annual losses

Like most manufacturers the tsunami in Asia cost them lots of money.

TV sales were down over 40%, costs were up. Though part of this was to get out of the Samsung deal which should save Sony money in the long run.

Camera sales were down and 2012 are projected to be down even further. IMO the Cellphone is eating low end camera sales. And with higer Mpixel phones on the way in the next couple of years will only do so more frequently.

Gaming was down as PS3 advertising costs were much higher than projected and sales lower than anticipated. Overall gaming down about 10%. PS3 sales are projected to be down further in 2012. As for the PS Vita it'll be interesting to see if they hit those numbers. IMO handheld gaming is moving to phones and like the low demand for the Nintendo handheld and Sony's low demands for the PSPgo we'll still see that same low demand.

Here is Sony's PDF if you're interested digging in more.
