Maybe...
So, what's next? Well, apart from the aforementioned DVI and interrupt support, I am eager to get 3D drivers up and running. DVI is something that I'd like to get working soon as I use a 4 port DVI KVM, and so would like to be able to stop switching to VGA. |

It's related,since you need 2d before 3d can be done. _________________ I'm an antique. Don't light my fuse |

Please do not use "two more weeks" with amiga os.. its a morphos / bplan joke...
also this idiotic two more weeks and when its done stuff is getting really tiresome..
its amazing ppl are stil interested in os4 developments with all the silence, no road map, no ads, no community outreach etc
This galllium 3d stuff will probably never happen. Just like those linux drivers that were supposed to be used for os4 like 4 years ago i forget the name... |

What? I thought the source of that joke was a comment by Bill McEwen, first I've heard it was MorphOS/bPlan-related, can you elaborate.
Aside from this, the point retro was making is correct, we don't know when Gallium3D will reach OS4 (and realistically the OS4 devs wouldn't be able to say with 100% certainty either, as there's always the chance of complications along the way), so the most accurate answer we can give is "when it's done". |

Yes, actually the actual quote "two more weeks" is from the very short lived Bplan rep that said something like "The pegasos will be out in TWO MORE WEEKS.. a Bplan 2 weeks is 14 days" dont know they exact quote.. the funny thing was it took way longer that 2 weeks. He was actually fired shortly after (not just for that i'm sure) Thats why on morphzone you see 2 more weeks all the time. |

I think better goin by this way: just forget about amiga stuff at all for say 1-2 years, then come back, and see what happens. If nothing change, then you was right, and just choice new hobby or just forget about all that amiga-crap. For sure, when i will tired with all that waiting, i will go this road :)
Sure, i also get bored with silence and all that crap that noone normally update hyperion blog, and even hyperion guys start to write on that blog about theyr TW project, which not related to Hyperion, and give only words like "soon, 2 more weeks, almost done". And even more i very tired about that new "shell", about which author can't do just article and put it on blog for the last weeks (i think when we discuss it with him, it was 2 month ago). For me all of this its bad indicator, and i really loose interest step by step as well. But as i say, when you (or i, or anyone else) will tired too much, then just forget about all of that, and back after year-two.
@amitv
If you are in amiga-world for a while (and you are as i remember), then you should know that it can take 1-2-3 years easy. So asking about "any news" = "no news and maybe never" :) Sceptical, pessimistic , but sad true.
And we all should not forget, that we not know how good Gallium3d will be in our realisation. Seeing how buggy warp3d , how slow everything changes in terms of 3d in last years, i really not have any kind of optimisim about Gallium3d.
I even fear , that hyperion will not put amigaos4 changes to gallium repository, and they will make amigaos4 part close sources. Hope to be wrong. Last edited by kas1e on 04-Apr-2011 at 08:03 AM. Last edited by kas1e on 04-Apr-2011 at 08:02 AM. Last edited by kas1e on 04-Apr-2011 at 07:59 AM.

SNAP was the name. The implementation in OS4 might have been blocked by the aquisition of SciTech by someone else a couple of years ago but I'm speculating here because Hyperion never gave any further info regarding the outcome of the SNAP deal._________________ The Rear Window blog

I think Hyperion’s backlog is long; they did give time estimates, stopped because they were unable to give correct estimates, and because of all BS they received from the community as result.
Then they started using “When it’s done”, AROS and MorphOS developer do not give time estimates, so why do we expect time estimates from Hyperion? Even major companies fail to give correct time estimates, remember how long vista was delayed?
Personally I’m happy when I knowing the list of the priorities and what’s being currently worked on.
So what do I know?
* Hans is working on graphic drivers. * Rigo is working on Reaction; I hope he is also working on USB2. * Some one from ACube is working on Audio for Sam460 I think. * SATA2 driver for Sam460 is being worked on. * X1000 project is under way and being worked on (some beta tester boards in production). * Update 3 is on the way, fixes some problems whit MUI etc. * Work on Firefox is being done (after hours). * OWB MUI is being done (not Hyperion)
There is a long list of things being worked on. Information about progress is often Leak on Amgans where there is less trolling.
