| Hi everyone. I'm not sure if anyone has had a go at this before, but the source code for this updated DOOM engine is available here - http://sourceforge.net/projects/vavoom/
Vavoom is Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Strife source port. It features software, OpenGL and Direct3D rendering, VavoomC scripting language, slopes, 3D-floors, Quake style lighting engine, pure client/server architecture with in-game joining and a lots more.
The game has options for software rendering, so even without using OpenGL or Direct3D it should compile and run on an Amiga surely.
Would anyone like to give it a go? _________________ Get AmigaOS for your PC, it's FREE and comes in two flavours!

Interesting suggestion
Hope this will interest an amiga programmer.
Continue like that, Cammy (found potential porting programs or games on AOS4.x)

A free 3D engine would be nice, something that could be enhanced by the developers and where everybody could design WADs and enemy characters.
Most commercial engines are ... commercial, you still need the original game.
And don't restrict it to ASO4, this might close out developers that are intersted in MOS or AROS. Last edited by Arko on 30-Jun-2009 at 07:18 AM.

It is good idea but the problem is the same, there are many open source games but the main problem is that there aren't many programmers or reprogrammers, and a game os this style has many code lines that I think there is that adapt to OS 4.x, much work few people that want colaborate, etc. |

It's GPL. No one can restrict anything they release based on this._________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |
