Dunno - I just got to that bit, but the Omniscience website is still under construction.
Sounds interesting, though; if there's a proper IDE for the AmigaDE/AmigaAnywhere, then I may give it another go...
@thread
This is interesting, too:

| Yay! An updated website! Although at the moment it looks a bit like an online casino...
Interesting to read some updated info and can't wait to check IRC for the interview.
Edit: Hmmm... my old AmigaDE SDK developer login works, but tells me I need to become a licenced Amiga developer. Quite fancy taking a look at the SDK 1.5. Last edited by MetalJoe on 18-Mar-2005 at 11:24 AM.

Please note, the development of future versions of the Amiga Operating System is not available for third party development or distribution. |
This worries me. are they taking on the role of developer or are they trying to scrap out the system?_________________ Win•dows: n. That's what I would like to know too. I have to say It would feel better if Hyperion would do those future versions too..Last edited by miksuh on 18-Mar-2005 at 11:40 AM.

| Doh! The official forums are missing at the moment - 404 for the redirected url. Was going to see what info had been posted there about the new site. _________________ Snowboarder, Airsofter, Programmer, Writer and AmigaOne XE G4 owner. That's a relief!
I would really like to get back into AmigaDE/AA development. Unfortunately, the original was a bit flaky on my Linux set-up and had a habit of self-destructing. _________________ Snowboarder, Airsofter, Programmer, Writer and AmigaOne XE G4 owner. Also, they've called it "Amiga 4.0" not "AmigaOS 4.0" - any significance? Typo, or new branding message?_________________

Typo.
Depends on what you mean by 'thread'. Do not confuse POSIX threads with 'multithreading'. There doesnt have to be only one implementation of multitasking with shared addressing. |

I have to say that I am very, very disappointed.
Providing individuals with a method of driving themselves into bankrupcy is not an honorable thing to do. Even if the game only uses play money and never ever connects with actual gambling establishments the tacit encouragement to do so is still present.

Oh dear. Fruit machine simulations are not a 'method of driving someone into bancruptcy', they are a game. A bit of fun.
Real slot machines are also not a 'method of driving someone into bacruptcy', they are an amusement enjoyed by millionss, but as with many things in life should be enjoyed in moderation. The lack of self control of the few should not deprive others with self control of their harmless fun.
Gambling can be addictive and destructive, but i'd argue that those who ruin their lives through it had other problems before they got hooked on gambling.
Are you really suggesting we should live in a 'nanny state' where anything that might possibly be harmful to some people should be banned? Should we all live in a little padded cell where the big bad world can't hurt us? _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6 |

| Well it doesn't work on Firefox. Getting an error message everytime it needs to get/display an image. Had to use IE
Not very proffesional at all. Even the design isn't well thought out. I'm not impressed at all. Only positive thing are the news _________________ A1200 with DKB Cobra 68030 + CF · A2000 with SCSI2SD · A4000 '040 with Mediator and Voodoo 5 |
