I really belive our community should make an effort to give a.inc a better looking website.

Imagine the 10 best webdesigners here on amigaworld.net making a design proposal for a.inc. We would get 10 unique designs, where only the best would win. The winner should be chosen from a poll between the 10 designs.

The winner gets a free amigaone from amiga.inc, and will be celebrated like a king for a long time.

Do we have 10 really good designers here, willing to start working, and come up with a preview in a month from now???

Could be a very interesting competition.

I'm personally not very good at these kinda things, but really belive we have 10 pro's among this community, who's willing to take on this challenge.

I CALL FOR THE 10 BEST DESIGNERS HERE........HELP OUR AMIGA SUCCED!!!

Who will be the first to sign up???

Are you one of them?????

@Uncharted

That attitude will never get us anywhere.

I'm absolutely sure Amiga.inc will reward the one making the best design. They would'nt dare otherwise.

So come on good webdesigners.......win this one.......and an AmigaOne!!

Who's the first???

And you should also ask Amiga Inc. if they are interested in such initiative at all.

Yes of course......we will wait for the last nine to join up, and then give it one month from that day.

In the meantime I will use all my powers to convince Amiga to donate an A1 for the winner of this contest. Of course A.inc can choose what they want, but I somehow suspect they will go for the design picked by 3200 members

I also hope somebody will tell Mr. Garry Hare about this initative on sunday at the IRC meeting.......anyone??? (can't join it myself)

My gut feeling is that they would - but you never know. The best scenario that I can think of is them accepting a website design, but not giving anything in return (if that was the case, just consider it a service to the community...)

I'd try a mockup, but knowing my web design skills it wouldn't be any better than the new site Besides, look at the competition - Ayalo's idea looks brilliant IMO. Nice and modern, but probably easy enough to implement in tables (for non-CSS Amiga browsers). I'd prefer it over the new design any day

@Ayalo

Looks nice.

Do you want to join the competion with this design? - or do you want to join and have a month to either improve this or make another?

Hey Ayalo,
that is a pretty cool design! Show it to Gary at the chat session.

@To All

Before we start this contest we really should wait for 10 good designers to join up. Then we should discuss what a "design" involves. In my head I don't just see a frontside template, but more a "complete" site suggestion including the subcategories of amiga.com.

This should be something they really can use, and not just a jpg picture of a nice frontpage.

Who the hell cares about what the Amiga Inc. website looks like? I would be worried had Hyperion's site looked bad but it doesn't.

Some of us looks a bit further than this OS community. If Amiga looks bad it's bound to have an effect on the sales and future of AOS.

Even though Hyperion develops it, amiga inc still owns it, and probably don't have any plans about skipping it......on the contrary!

I might have a go at a design, but only if some at Amiga Inc will considure this contest for a new design for amiga.com.

If they do, I will setup a section on the Image Album on this site for users to upload their designs. The best 5 could go into a poll for users to vote.

@DaveyD

This would be great

I think even I would like to make a design, just for fun... but only if Amiga Inc. would accept the contest

@DaveyD

Nice to hear, but amiga.inc should be allowed to say no to the designs if they don't like them. The only thing they should promise is to donate an A1 to the winner of the poll.

Could you perhaps get an answer from them???
