Dubble post! Sorry. Netscape is a pain. Anyone know a decent browser for mac OSX?

I'm using Safari, Netscape, Opera and Firefox and I definitly prefer iBrowse on the amiga.

I tried to subscribe on the Formatt Home Computing web site by credit card, but
Amiga browsers don't work there.

I won't send my credit info by email, so are there any other options? No PC so I
guess I'm screwed.

@rhino

Did you consider adding a CD-Rom with it loaded with a PDF version of the Mag + a few goodies from OS4Depot for example ?... And maybe other goodies which can not be find easily anywhere else... Also maybe some ADFs (like Demos) to run on WinUAE/e-uae...

Is the price of the print version all printing and postage related costs?

Yes, plus a buffer to allow for unsold copies, exchange rate fluctuations, a small amount of marketing and that sort of thing. No one gets paid for their work on the magazine.

Quote:
You would just have to remove them from the cost of a PDF version then factor in costs for hosting the file and cost of bandwith of downloads.

The only costs for a PDF distribution would be payment charges, bandwidth and hosting, this would work out to very little per subscriber.

Hope that explains it.

Robert

You are right to NEVER send credit card details via e-mail, but you can subscribe directly to us at http://www.totalamiga.org/buy_paypal.html using PayPal, we have so far not had any problems with Amigans subscribing via this method!

You can also subscribe via various methods at http://www.amigakit.com

Yes, I subscribe, at the moment. What I'm really bad at is remembering to renew my subscription, so I get large gaps in my magazine collection!

The mag is excellent. I like the fact that it includes a balance of hardware, software and all the different systems (A1 / AOS4, Peg / MOS, Aros, UAE))

Only real suggestion I can think of is perhaps, as Amiga Future and Amigaworld do, some interviews with the leading lights of the day and perhaps of yesteryear. Otherwise, more of same!

Thats odd! We put in a sub reminder sheet with all those that are on their last in their current sub. Maybe they are so excited that they rip out the magazine and throw the envelope in the bin without checking

We have just recently (including the upcoming issue) had lots of interviews thanks to our intrepid interviewer Magnus Johnson who has done a sterling job I must say

If you want to see what the mag is like before subscribing, you can download complete backissues in PDF format from our site. Some fairly recent issues are available so the are very close to the current mix of content and overall design.

I entered all the info on the Formatt web site with both IBrowse & the latest AWeb, but got a javascript error on the final submit button.

I used your totalamiga.org link & now have a subscription & a PayPal account.
Should I vote again?

Once the mag's finished, I'll have a look at the page and see if I can help John fix it so it works in Amiga browsers (assuming it's a page on his site rather than one provided by a third party payment service).

I had a read and i'm impressed - It's very professional indeed but I don't have an new amiga so lot's of it is of interest only to me. I'll think about it - Have you considered doing a cover disk old skool style!? I'd buy it then!

er would you like fries with that too?

To be honest nearly all the major news/developments on the Amiga platform is now for the new machines now. Very little gets released for old classics, sure when something comes along that is for classic Amiga's it gets covered, but the focus of the community now seems to be OS4.

I suggest a nice new shiney Amy'05 when it comes out, more of which you can read about in the next issue (#22)

I see we have 3 people who think "I think it sucks", maybe we will start to get hate mail now..... from people who have never read it!

HAHA,

Sold me!

After payday perhaps - a nice beginners guide to the new machines would be good, either on here on in Total Amiga. I love my classic but find the though of a new machine daunting....

Am I alone?

For the 4 who voted "What's Total Amiga Magazine?"

Total Amiga is an A4 printed Amiga magazine published by the enthusiastic Amiga users at South Essex Amiga Link. Our aim is to cover all aspects of the Amiga from a users point of view, we try to be as honest and realistic as we can. Each issue has a selection of news, product reviews, hints and tips, tutorials and opinion. Inside the magazine you will find a variety of writers, some regular and others contributing the odd piece now and then.
