@afxgroup

I've tried to compile dillo with my GTK/X11-port, but I must say, that the GUI is the smallest problem. Nearly everything is handled in separate threads using pipe()/fork(). So only a few things are working. A big part of the program must be rewritten. Good luck

@CygnusEd

wow! Xwindows with GTK running natively on AmigaOS4!

That is VERY useful!

Do you plan to upload your server to os4 depot?

Have the Amizilla team contacted you? It would be great to be able to run x11 gtk stuff on AmigaOS... and Mozilla could be ported easily

@afxgroup

It's X11 for OS4
X11 works quite good, but I'm still using the 68k-ixemul-X11-server, only the clients and client-libs are done. Hope that I can publish it soon, but I have still problems with the server. I'm thinking about to release it together with the 68k-server, but I have a little performance problem with it.

I have a working gtk / gdk 1.2.20 port for X11 and it took about 1 hour to port dillo. But as I said, the GUI is not the only problem.
I also have Amaya, it was much easier to port, but the internet-connection does not work. There is still a lot to do.

The 68k-server can run on AOS3.x or it uses OS4 functions and only run on OS4?

Help would be a nice thing - it's a lot of work. But the project's size is over 100 MB (packed) I thing and I must cleanup some things, before someone can use it. The question is, would be a package including the 68k-server interresting for you (and others) ?

I have another surprise: I also have wxWidgets for OS4 too :

@Fransexy

It's the geekgadgets-X11-server (68k-binary) running on OS4. The server works fine, I only have a few problems with it. The clients from geekgadgets are crashing under OS4, but now I have my native ones.

@all

man this is sweet,

why not release it as alpha software and let people test it for you. HELL I'll run it and any tests you want run no problem.

@afxgroup

> you are really damned

Hope you are kidding

If you are interrested in my project, I can make a prerelease including the 68k-server and upload it to os4depot. But it will need some days (maybe weeks).

BTW: as posted in an other thread, this is my port of Amaya:

Holy cow! I am porting Audio Evolution 4 to wxWidgets for deployment on other platforms. It would be really great if I had wxWidgets for OS4 so I can have one source tree. I am wondering if you can send me a beta? What does it actually use, the wxX11 back-end? I hope it uses GTK, as they recommend the use of the GTK back-end since it is said to be far better. Anyway, great work!
