Also all this talk about AmigaOS 4 being available on Pegasos and/or Efika hardware is strictly timed, right some days before the new hardware announcements on the Italian Amiga Fair.

Like announcements means a lot these days in Amiga Land...

next conspiracy theory please...

@saimo

But then again, if it's not copyrighted material, private email text or other priviledge information it got to be an illustration point... if it is anonymous it has no author... got it?
Had the author will the mail not be shown, he could either:
a) not send it..
b) expressly expressed it..

So how come that be private mail?

@guys

This thread was : Posted on 28-Aug-2006 15:46:33,

That is almost 1 month it has been on the frontpage.

@Dirk-B

Amiga.org has a thread of Dennis since 2005/12/5, maybe someone should warn Wayne then...

Excuse, I see, perhaps this is now *your* site...

It won't matter if it gets locked either. Soon there will be another post up saying the usual:

Read my blog, join power.org

It is just non-Amiga related spam. It is just avertisement from someone that makes computers that don't run Amiga OS.

Funny how I don't see you evangelizing against other 'non-Amiga' related spam also present in forums...

What if you did, and next month a major contributor to the OS decides he wants his code back an no longer wants to sell it as part of OS4. Do you see how potentially volitile this would make the OS?

Surely the contracts don't allow someone to arbitrarily void their components' licenses. There should be terms in there that specify any circumstances where that would be allowed, and disallows it for any other reasons.

But that was one thing I was concerned with back in the lawsuit days when bbrv was planning to void the contract between Amiga Inc and Hyperion, as I assume any contracts Hyperion had with 3rd parties depended on that one being in place. Void that one, and everythign falls apart al the way down, and you have to start over with every single contributor from scratch to put it all together again. I imagine that if that had happened, some people may have declined and pieces would have been lost. But I don't htink that can happen by some 3rd party's whim to not do that anymore just for the because of it if all contracts are still in place.

How can a PM be a "private" communication when it comes from an anonymous source?

What does PM stand for?

Did Mr./Ms. Amonymous address it only to you and nobody else, or did he/she address it to the world at large in a public posting of his/her own?

Unfortunately, it is not just spam
It's a neverending series of attacks, offences, innuendoes, flame-stirring statements and maybe even lies (most notably, for all we know, the email sent to AInc, the ensuing answer and even the recent famous anonymous email may just be a fabrication of his mind - I'm not saying it is so, just that it is a possibility that many would not be surprised of at all).
All he manages to do is stirring troubles and who knows if it's actually what he's after.

edit: this time I managed to forget a whole word: "email"...

I think this thread may set a record of # of pages before it degenerated into the (inevitable?) insults and mud-slinging.....still sad that it apparently has to be this way :-/

The reason for locking this thread is not the subject, nor the content.

It's simply becoming too big, almost 700 posts in this thread now, and if and when a need for moderation occurs, it's seldom just one post that needs to be looked at, but a series of posts and replies, with a span over several pages.

If this 48 hour warning of a forthcoming lock isn't enough, I won't object if someone wants to start a new thread.

It wont be the same. A post explaining what happened on this thread may take too long, for example:

bbrv spams with his blog and unrelated info,
his followers cheer him,
many other people object,
bbrv continues with his spam,
other people object,
his followers continue to cheer him,
bbrv continues to spam,
someone asks bbrv if s/he sent an e-mail to Amiga Inc asking for AmigaOS 4 license,
bbrv posts very unprofessional e-mail asking about AmigaOS 4, claiming that he have sent it,
his followers cheer him again,
some people object,
some other people said that he needs to contact them as well,
his followers cheer him once again,
many people object,
bbrv insults some random people,
.....
bbrv insults some other people, including Amiga Inc as well,
...
bbrv insults other people and abuses the netiquette
...
...
...

Tomazkid locks the threat.

@drHirudo

I agree, I have had it up to my eyeballs with BBRV constantly posting stuff on this thread which, to be honest, should go in the classifieds. And thats just the start, not mentioning the insults and that rather dubious photo where he replies to Skyraker.

BBRV, if you are reading this, You are banned for 30 days. Appeal to DaveyD if you feel I have been too zealous.
