@Lecta

Lecta, what about a wonderful reportage on the next BitPlane issue?

@AmigaBlitter

The next issue will be sold AT Pianeta Amiga... and it will answer many questions

@Thread

OK - I have a question.

This board has been touched by someone who swears they were sober! But has it been seen running OS4?

If this is the 'mystery device' and it could ship with OS4 in September then this is good news.

Would you please give us a link to the "interesting" afxgroup post as Polka asked, I don't think I have seen it either...

As Ikir has explained to me in PM, he is "not allowed" to post a link to said Afxgroup's _public forum post_ on AW.net.
I have been waisting my time explaining to him that there is nothing wrong with posting a link to information which already have been made publically available (i.e. posted here in the forums), but he didn't understand that.

This is in fact what really counts. A device successfully running OS4 and being licensed to to so.
I could care less about AMCC evaluation mainboards and the like being presented as "new" Amiga-hardware.

Apology accepted.

Sorry, but maybe the others understand better why you can't simply post a link to information which has been already _publically posted_ here on AW.net before. I fail to understand that. Maybe others do. *shrug*

@polka.

Look at this website:

http://www.bitplane.it/
http://www.virtualworks.it/

They have the same banner. I doubt that someone pay a single buck to sponsor nothing, don't you think?

@polka.

I could not find too much here in AW.net. Very little indeed: search for "samantha" and you'll find a cryptic thread.

The stamp-sized image posted by AmigaBlitter looks like a picture of OS4 WB running on one of these things... It's afxgroup's signature in iksnet.it.

Anyway, it looks like it's time to wait for an official news release. Don't know for how long.

@polka.

You are perfectly correct. If the information is already public no NDA on earth will protect it.
You could actually dig for it yourself but what's the point if someone knows the location?

@sgm

quoting from a news of afxgroup website:

"All amigans (and not..) are invited at annual Pianeta Amiga in Italy. This year you can't miss the show. As someone has said, this edition of Pianeta Amiga will be historical for all the amigans. Good news regards hardware will be shown!

The appointment is 23rd and 24th september 2006 at the Empoli's Palaesposizioni to touch with your hands all the news of the Amiga world."

I could not find any info either. That's why I asked Ikir where Afxgroup did post that info about "Moana" on AW.net. He said that he "wasn't allowed to link to that post". ...which I find rather funny.

No. It doesn't look like that. To me it looks like AmigaOS 2.04 running on my A500.
I guess us non-Italians must be lacking some enthusiasm. (Is it the lack of sun?)
After all, there must be a reason for this thread being spammed with empty or non-sensical AmigaBlitter messages.

Indeed it is the reason because this thread is over 2000 views, 4 pages of posts and a lot of new PMs are in my AW.net inbox. All in few hours.

Polka relax and wait for more news and pics. Wait just a week.

@polka.

I guess that it all has to do with the fact that new OS4-compatible hardware is just behind the corner, and italians are very enthusiastic for some very good reasons: italian-made hardware, first-hand knowledge of the people working on it, you name it...
As long as the hardware gets shipped, I'm all for it.

PS. I'm italian as well
