@Ferry

Yes, the '%l' is set. Looking at T: , I can see a 'log' called 'Command-T2-0'
containing:
---
FailAt 10

rx Work:IBrowse/Arexx/play_youtube.rexx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9JXQowEAUI
---

So it seems the URL is passed to the rexx script, but for some reason it does not work. Any ideas why?

Google just bought YouTube - for 1.8 billion!!!

They plan to use it as a big advertising stream - and are planning to share profits with its users, so if you generate a #### load of hits, you'll get some pennies for it.

This is mental. Another great idea gone before I had a chance to think of it bugger

@GrumpyOldMan

"Winston the Wiener Dog", hehe

Recheck you didn't modify nothing else than the required lines, for some reason the URL is not passed to wget. Single and double quotes are the usual suspects...

@BrandonLee

Can't get this to work with MPlayer Experimental #3 and Aweb 3.5.08 beta.
Aweb will save the .flv files, and Mplayer will play the .flvs when I use
mplayerGUI, but when I try the following shell command:

C:Execute web:web/Flayer/LaunchMPlayer c:mplayer -framedrop -quiet -vc ffflv -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER videodive.flv

all I get is the error "Option -vo needs a parameter at line 1"

That's all I get when I try to play from AWeb as well.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Scott

If anyone is interested, they can download the script from my projects page:

It's currently a beta, when I'm happy its working well and I've added a couple more features I'll make a proper announcment and upload it to OS 4 Deopt and Aminet.

Does your script also work under OS 3.x?

On an A4000PPC with Voodoo4 and OS 3.9 / WarpOS 16.1???

I'm asking this as I appearently will still have to wait a while until I can have OS4 for my classic...

you can avoid to pass -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER since is default in the exp #3

When you try do you definitely have the command all on one line? If you're pasting it into a shell and the line contains a newline then it will execute only the first part and give the error you describe.

The script itself should work with no problems (although I haven't tested it) and download the .flv file. However the only Amiga program that can play FLV (that I know of) is MPlayer and there is no OS 3.x port. Therefore while the script will work it's not much use on OS 3.

Can't understand "Definable" when in IBrowse FabMenus.

Quote:
goto GUI>FABMenus , drag&drop a 'Definable' element into 'Link' section in order to create a new context menu entry.

What should I drag there to get a new line?

Damn... My IB has the Spanish locale installed, so I didn't know exactly what the word was. Corrected now.

Still a no-go - it seems the 'http_get_params' does not return the parameters as adding 'say params' after 'params = http_get_params(url)' only outputs word 'PARAMS' to the IBrowse Output window.

BTW is arexx case sensitive?

I am calling the arexx script from 'youtube_play' script with:

rx Work:IBrowse/Arexx/play_youtube.rexx {URL}

is this correct?

@GrumpyOldMan

I can't see what's going wrong, since I cannot see if you have done any other modification in the script, even if you didn't want to... I would recommend you to do it again from the start, and look twice at any modification you do.

Saluditos,

Ferrán.

Hey guys,

Thanks to Ferry's assistance, I just got his evolution of the
script working on IB & YourTube too.

An additional option for everyone: you can use the same script(s)
with the "Page" FAB menu, if you're already on the YourTube page
containing the video you want to play.

Just add another "Custom" element to the Page FAB menu as Ferry
described, but set the script argument to "%u" (WebPage URL).

Once configured, you just right-click on the page and you'll have
your new menu item to download/view the video on that page.

Thanks Ferry, Fab, Toaks and all the guys that worked on getting
this working.

@Bobsonsirjonny

Google has dropped a boll0ck buying Youtube it would seem.

Just now that we managed to use it on OS4, Google buys the damn thing! I bet it will change and we'll be stuck again... :(((

@Ferry

I downloaded the scripts again (just to be sure I don't have a corrupted files). Unarchived the package to separate directory and opened the 'youtube.rexx' file with NotePad.

I then deleted the line:

address command 'wget -O "'title'.flv" 'location

then I cut and pasted the two lines from your text in this thread:

address command 'wget -O "t:temp.flv" 'location
address command '{path:}mplayer >nil: -ao sdl -vo cgx_vmem::TINYBORDER "t:temp.flv"'

and changed the latter line:

address command 'c:mplayer >nil: -ao sdl -vo cgx_vmem::TINYBORDER "t:temp.flv"'

I have MPlayer installed in C:

Nothing more was changed in the script. I then saved the script into C: with name "youtube_play.rexx".

Next, I created a new file with Notepad, and copied the text directly from your description in this thread:

.key URL/A,Opt
.bra {
.ket }

FailAt 10

rx {path:}youtube_play.rexx {URL}

and changed the last line to

rx c:youtube_play.rexx {URL}

then saved this file to C: under name "play_youtube". From DOpus, I set the 'script' bit to this file

7.OS4:C> list pl*
play_youtube 70 -s--rwed Today 21:42:25

Finally I created the new custom item ("Play_YouTube") in IBrowse Settings/GUI/Fab Menus, following your instructions - Action: 'Command', c:play_youtube, %l

I then save the settings, closed IBrowse, rebooted the machine, started the IBrowse again, went to www.youtube.com, selected the same "Winston the Viener Dog" movie, put the cursor over 'Play next' link, chose the Play_YouTube from FAB menu and waited. Nothing happened for several minutes, then I get the text in IBrowse Output window:

TITLE
http://
wget: missing URL
Usage: wget [OPTION]... [URL]...

Try `wget --help' for more options.
MPlayer 1.0pre8.007 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: PowerPC

93 audio & 210 video codecs

Playing data:TITLE.flv.

Exiting... (End of file)
--------------------------

So, no success again. Don't really know what goes wrong. I can see the movie in Aweb, so it should be visible in IBrowse too.

Yes...I've verified this. I'll try removing the -vo cgx_vmem::ALWAYSBORDER entirely and see how it flies.....
