@Metalheart

I have ordered 1 time now at Vesalia and just let them send it. IBAN rulez. Just as easy as ordering here and the shipping costs weren't all that high either.

It's a good alternate store to order from. Now let's hope this new hardware stuff is true but I won't be ordering it this year since I already spent my money on some nice PC and Dell stuff.

Am I the only one interested in the cheap machine?

I hope it doesn't requires A1200 to run, it will take away too much people that will buy the system only for curiosity or the nostalgy.

Yep. And even getting -that- far does not speak to whether these machines would ever run OS4, despite the desire expressed to do so.

We're getting a slow but steady trickle of news regarding new hardware and OS4 availability. Good. Even 1000 more Amiga OS4 users will make a significant difference, compared to what we have now. Let's see what they have to offer over the next few weeks.

I suggest you keep close watch on OS4 for classic then.
At least -that- release is covered by the old contract and not under dispute.

Just to keep the speculation going:

McEwen said some time ago that he has good relations with the Friedens, so will they license their ExecSG to Amiga's AmigaOS4 (and 5? ), or will ExecSG only be a component of Hyperion's AmigaOS4?

Let's hope they get things sorted out one way or another..

I'll tell ya, if the $500 solution requires old hardware to run and/or requires anyone that wants to use OS4 (for classic) to start scrambling for PPC hardware accelerators it's gonna be a real deal killer! If I can simply buy the $500 machine with OS4, or buy OS4 for the new machine for $100 or so, I'm there baby!

I think we're all eager to see the specs first anyway!

Even if a few of us (probably me) would buy a machine runnning OS4 at just about any specs.

Would have to be somewhat better than my AOne though, although not necessarily with a faster cpu!

We need specs, a running prototype board and a confirmed OS4.0 port in the works before we can take these complete bunch of sales/marketing trained muppets (Amiga Inc) seriously! That's if any of them actually have 1) a degree or 2) had and previous work experience besides selling second hand mobile phone handsets Good luck Adam, I'd rather work for a real company.

@Amiga4000

The new boards mentioned do not require any classic hardware.

@madmalkav

Well, I've got a microA1, so I'm only intrested in the more upmarket one. but OS4 runs about as fast as it can on that, (although making MP3s etc is a little slow), so I'm sure the cheaper one will be fine.

Well, I say as fast as it can, could it be faster on a better CPU?
