@tonyyeb

Whilst this meeting is an opportunity to bring stuff along to sell it's co ordinating it that is the problem. After all if you have a Tower to sell you do not want to tout it round until you get a seller !

At MAG meeting we put items on a table but that is relatively small and easy to control.

Hopefully we can find a solution by pre advertising stuff on the MAG website.

Amigakit will be concentrating on newer suff (SAM's in particular !!) so I don't think that will bother them too much. If you pre order with them they will bring it along to the venue and that will save you carriage.

With regards to other set ups I personally would like to see as many as possible but tables wil be an issue. However don't let that stop you putting anything in the car boot so if the opportunity arises at least your gear it in situ.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Does anyone know what AmigaKit's charges are for carriage (P&P) for something like a Sam440? They don't seem to list such charges on their web site, and you need to be registered with them to get very far in the check-out process (to see what it'll cost).

@ChrisH

I created an order for a Sam440 and OS4.1 and the carriage costs came to a resonable £6.60. That however is uninsured so add abot £2 if you require that option.

I don't know however whether Amigakit wil be doing a special show rate or might knock off a few quid if you pay by cash as that avoids Payl Pal / credit card charges.

Also you never know if someone is going to be generous and put up a Sam440 or OS4.1 as a raffle prize !!!

@IanO

lol - i'd be buying some tickets for the raffle if it was!

At the moment we are still accepting prizes for the raffle if anybody is interested.

Did anybody see the new Micromart this week? Sven has very kindly promoted our event, but he obviously had to write his article a few weeks ago because it doesn't mention Hyperion attending or anything else.

Lets hope he does an update soon ;)

Am I ok to bring stuff to show? Like a Custom A1200? Or some stuff that I think people might want to buy? Does that sort of thing go on? Silly questions I know but having not been to a meet for a long time...

@ Daz: Get in touch if you are planning on going.

Yes I'll be going, I'm probably going to pledge tonight..
I am planning to take my car and there will be loads of room in the boot if you want to take anything. I expect there will be less room on the way back though...

Regards
Daz

Hi Daz. Great stuff. If you don't mind ill take you up on your offer of a lift (split the petrol money of course!). I'm not sure if I will be taking anything other than my laptop. If you want to add me to msn or e-mail closer to the time to arrange where to meet etc...

Excelent plug in Micro Mart and thanks to Sven for the plug. The article does mention Hyperion which is great - hopefully it can be reproduced on the MAG web site.

We are only 3 weeks away from the event and it's looking good particularly as you say there is some more good news to be announced !!

Keep those pledges coming everyone !!

@amigakit
On your web site, for the Sam440 boards it says "PRE-ORDERING FOR SECOND BATCH (DELIVERY EARLY NOVEMBER 2008)." This worries me a little, since the MAG Bash is on 1st November - "early November" may be a little too late! Can you give any clarification or update? (I'm hoping the notice means delivery to customers, not delivery to you.)

I'm also worried that for OS4.1 your site says "PRE-ORDERING HAS BEGUN (DELIVERY EARLY OCTOBER)." And well, we're nearly half way through October already, so I wondered if there has been some delay on this v.important item? (I have some other info which suggests this may be the case.)

I hope ACube & Hyperion are giving consideration to the fact that you are intending to sell this items at the show on 1st November.

@ChrisH

Our highest priority is our customers who have already pre-paid- these will be the customers who receive stock primarily. Stock has now started to arrive for these customers.

Any surplus stock will be sold at shows such as MAG Bash and on general sale via our webstore.

OS 4.1 is on schedule- it is still first half of October.

@niceguy1979

Looks like I may have that weekend off, but can't commit, yet!

Not sure if I'd stay til late (book a B&B or go straight home - that'd depend on who stops off for a drink and banter afterwards

I would be coming from Northamptonshire (I don't drive) on the train or coach, so not so far. Unless anyone else will be coming from this way?

Anyhow... it sounds like it'll be a good event. Well done

Steve

Seems that I need not worry about OS4.1 CDs for Sam440 being ready:

@all

hey all,

WIRELESS NET ACCESS
just checked on the internet connection at the venue and all is quite good. We've got to set up a repeater to make the signal strength good enough. We wont be able to connect too many machines, so it's just going to be the exhibitors and seminars that will be able to use it......but it's free at the end of the day, so we can't grumble.

BUY & BUILD tables available!
for people who want to buy any kit and build it at the event tables will be available. bring your screw drivers, 4 way adapters and LCD monitors to make sure you have all the bits you need.

DEMO CODING AREA
tables will also be available for the coders out there to get together and if there is enough time to code a demo. With the new hardware available it would be interesting to see what it's capable of.

FOOD & DRINKS

the Wellspring cafe in the church will be open for people to get some light snacks & food before the event. Refreshments will still be available in the hall served by my lovely wife, so I hope you all treat her nice! Teas, coffees, soft drinks, water, probably crisps and snacks

@niceguy1979
Sounds good!

Although I am not sure whether a "demo coding area" will work, but if this was added because of request(s) then I guess it will get used.
