@alpyre

are quite nice, i like the second more than the first, well i like that boing by itself a lot

but imho you put that highlight wrongly positioned, it should be a light directly over the boing, it looks like a boing's hat

Why not ask him to do a new logo based on a wolf and not a fox - he seems to have the talent....

Yeah, he's full of talent, no doubt

but are you asking me to contact that person? well, of course i can (assuming you mean by being from the same country), but i think thats something which should come from the timberwolf authors... i will not request him to create it to later it get not accepted from they =)

Yes the authors could contact him, if none of the logos shown in this thread are good enough.

@zErec

at first looks nice, much appreciated the Nick job/gift. however, that wood texture is a bit..strange, too classic maybe. for a icon/logo i think it should be a transparent background as well.

all that imho, of course

@zErec

Cool, nice to see something different. I like the other suggestions as well but IMHO the logo does not really need to look anything like the Firefox logo.
And like Rogue said not everything needs to contain the boingball (the worst ever Amiga logo, where's the "tick"?)

So far I like zErecs proposal the most, but perhaps with a wolf showing a bit more life/agression. I know it's howling and is supposed to look like that but it really isn't very photogenic while doing that

Yep, in the end it's up to the Frieden brothers to decide, really.

@all

A bit OT, but the TimberWolf name are already used for other products (I don't think there's a copyright problem, since it's not IT related):

What about replacing the wooden-backplate with something more colorfull..?

indeed!..

I just found Nick's website and we have to admit all of its other creations are more colorfull than this.

No problem, as I wrote it´s a early concept...

ok then!

hmm, maybe more than colorfull the correct term is "modern", nothing wrong really with cartoon-style creations, but it can look more professional imho

If you or Nick could make an animated transfer animation based on the wooden logo, that would be great. It would also prove to the naysayers that the wolf is not dead

Yeah, it seems widely used. Those logos/images should look familiar to some of you as well:

From wikipedia: "Timberwolf, the code name assigned to George H. W. Bush by the Secret Service."

That logo was the first i saw when i searched for timberwolf in google.It´s cool as well.If we could use the wolf drawing (or an gfx artist could make one as exact as possible but without being the same), then put the world globe below and use Amiga letters for the name.i do not know if i explain correctly.catch the idea?

The name is two parts, Timber and Wolf. Firefox have this in its logo by making the fox tale look like its made of fire.

The logo in #90 posted by zErec was the first I've seen that actually had both some wood and wolf combined.
But visually I like the logo in #2 from Fransexy better.

What about something like the Fransexy logo, but with a timber log in the center.
Like this, only better looking (this is not an attempt to make the logo, but just something I put together to illustrate the idea). A better looking timber log is needed, and also the wolf itself could be modified a bit to look more "wolfish" I think.

Hmmm, don't really like that timber amyren.

If people want a wood like texture to be part of the logo why not create/render the boing ball as a wooden ball, whereby the grain lines of wood are evident to see on its service.

So the wolf hugging the boing ball is good, just need to make the boing ball out of wood with the grain evident as a texture...

Q!
